''Nathan'' is the second studio album by Australian blues rock musician Nathan Cavaleri, credited to Nathan Cavaleri Band. The album was released in October 1994, peaked at number 71 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The album features vocals from American R&B singer Sweet Pea Atkinson and Irish pop-rock singer Andrew Strong. Nathan Cavaleri
Nathan Cavaleri (born 18 June 1982) is an Australian blues rock singer-songwriter and guitarist, and a former child actor. He issued two albums as a solo artist, ''Jammin' with the Cats'' (1993) and '' Nathan'' (1994). He has been a member of various groups including Dirty Skanks (2003–10), and Nat Col and the Kings (2010–2012). At the age of six Cavaleri was diagnosed with leukaemia and has been in remission since he was 13. As a child actor he appeared in the American film ''Camp Nowhere'' (1994) and starred in '' Paws'' (1997). Biography 1982–1992: Early Years Nathan Cavaleri was born on 18 June 1982 and grew up in Ruse, New South Wales. "Summertime Blues" is a song co-written and recorded by American rock artist Eddie Cochran. It was written by Cochran and his manager Jerry Capehart. Originally a single B-side, it was released in August 1958 and peaked at number 8 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100 on September 29, 1958, and number 18 on the UK Singles Chart. It has been covered by many artists, including being a number-one hit for country music artist Alan Jackson, and scoring notable hits in versions by Blue Cheer, The Who, and Brian Setzer, the last of whom recorded his version for the 1987 film '' La Bamba'', in which he portrayed Cochran. The compact disc (CD) is a Digital media, digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. In August 1982, the first compact disc was manufactured. It was then released in October 1982 in Japan and branded as ''Compact Disc Digital Audio, Digital Audio Compact Disc''. The format was later adapted (as CD-ROM) for general-purpose data storage. Jimmy Hughes (singer)
Jimmy J. Hughes (born February 3, 1938) Other sources give an apparently incorrect birth year of 1935, and Allmusic states incorrectly that he died in 1997. is an American former rhythm and blues singer, whose biggest successes in the mid-1960s, notably his hit "Steal Away", were important in the early development of the Muscle Shoals music industry. Life and career Hughes, a cousin of Percy Sledge, was born and raised in Leighton, Alabama, close to Muscle Shoals. He began singing in a gospel quartet, The Singing Clouds, while at high school. In 1962, he auditioned for record producer Rick Hall at his FAME Studios. Hall was impressed, and recorded Hughes on a song, "I'm Qualified", that Hall had co-written with Quin Ivy. The record was leased to the Guyden label in Philadelphia, but was not a hit. Hughes returned to his day job at a rubber factory, and began singing secular R&B songs in local clubs. "Steal Away" is a 1964 R&B hit and Top 40 crossover song written and recorded by Jimmy Hughes. It was the first single recorded at FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Original version Jimmy Hughes of Leighton, Alabama had since the age of eight been a church chorister: by 1962, when the twenty-four year old Hughes was working at the rubber plant in Muscle Shoals, he was regularly performing with a gospel group at Colbert County venues and also on Tuscumbia radio station WZZA. The success of local singer Arthur Alexander, whose single " You Better Move On" was a Top 30 hit in the spring of 1962, encouraged Hughes to audition for Alexander's producer Rick Hall at the latter's fledgling Wilson Dam Highway recording studio. Raymond Jackson (songwriter)
Raymond Earl Jackson (September 11, 1941 – November 10, 1972) was an American rhythm and blues songwriter, guitarist and record producer. His most successful songs, mostly written at Stax Records in the late 1960s and early 1970s, were "Who's Making Love", co-written with Homer Banks and Bettye Crutcher; and "(If Loving You Is Wrong) I Don't Want to Be Right" and "If You're Ready (Come Go With Me)", both co-written with Banks and Carl Hampton. Life Jackson grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. With his friend and lifelong musical partner Homer Banks, he formed his first group, the Soul Consolators, in his teens, and the pair wrote the group's songs together. After serving in the US Army between 1966 and 1968, he renewed his songwriting partnership with Banks, who had begun working at Stax Records. Homer Banks
Homer Banks (August 2, 1941 – April 3, 2003) was an African American songwriter, singer and record producer. Although best known by many for his songwriting for Stax Records in the 1960s and 1970s, some of his own releases from the 1960s are considered classics on the Northern Soul scene. Many of the songs he wrote have become contemporary classics. Life Banks was born in Memphis, Tennessee, United States, and at the age of 16 formed the Soul Consolidators gospel group which toured around the southern states, often performing his own material. After military service, he returned to Memphis in 1964, and started a singing career with the small Genie label where he met Isaac Hayes and David Porter. Soon, Stax founder Estelle Axton hired him to work at the record shop attached to the company's Satellite Studios, where he stayed for three years, also recording for the Minit label. Mark Holden
Mark Ronald Holden (born 27 April 1954) is an Australian singer, actor, TV personality, record producer, songwriter, and barrister. He was a pop star in the 1970s and had four top 20 hit singles, "Never Gonna Fall in Love Again" (May 1976), "I Wanna Make You My Lady" (September), "Last Romance" (November) and "Reach Out for the One Who Loves You" (October 1977).
