Natalie Harrowell
Natalie Harrowell (9 February 1990 – 10 December 2019) was an English rugby league player who played in the first-ever Women's Super League Grand Final in 2017. Harrowell played for Featherstone Rovers and was regarded as a "key member of the women's club team", she also held 3 caps for England Rugby League Rugby league is played across England but is most popular in Northern England, especially Yorkshire and Lancashire where the game originated. Featherstone Rovers Women
Featherstone Rovers are a women's rugby league club from Featherstone, West Yorkshire, England, who play in Group 2 of the RFL Women's Super League. They play their home games at Post Office Road which is also home to the Featherstone Rovers men's team. History The Featherstone Rovers women's team was founded in 2011 and competed in the Women's Rugby League Conference for their first three seasons. The club, which had previously been the Wakefield Panthers, included numerous England internationals and were one of the most successful women's teams of the previous twenty years having won the Women's Amateur Rugby League Association Challenge Cup 14 times between 1991 and 2007. They won the cup again in 2011 in their first season as Featherstone Rovers. In 2012, Featherstone won the inaugural RFL Women's Challenge Cup defeating Bradford Thunderbirds 46–0 in the final. England Women's National Rugby League Team
The England women's national Rugby League team represents England in Women's Rugby League. They are administered by the Rugby Football League. As Great Britain, they toured Australia in 1996, New Zealand in 1998, and reached the first-ever Women's Rugby League World Cup Final in 2000, where they lost 26–4 to New Zealand. Great Britain toured Australia in 2002 and took part in the 2003 World Cup. In 2006, the RFL announced that, after the men's 2007 All Golds Tour, the Great Britain team would no longer compete on a regular basis, and that players would be able to represent England, Wales and Scotland at Test level. It is planned that the Great Britain team will come together in future only for occasional tours. The Women's Super League Grand Final is the championship-deciding game of rugby league's RFL Women's Super League competition. History After the formation of the Women's Super League in 2017 it was announced that the title would be decided by a playoff series and Grand Final as the men's competition does as well. The first two Grand Finals were held at the Manchester Regional Arena as double headers with the women's championship final, on the same day and before the men's Grand Final. For 2019 it was announced Headingley Stadium would host the final. However a late date change meant a change of venue as Headingley was unavailable for the new date and the 2019 grand final was played at the Totally Wicked Stadium instead.
