Karu LGA
Karu is a Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, central Nigeria. It is close in proximity to the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria. It has an area of 2,640 km2. Karu local government has its headquarters in New Karu town. It was originally built to house the capital's civil servants and lower income families, but had no running water or good sanitation system. Karu has grown in population beyond its original planned capacity. Keffi
Keffi is a town in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Keffi. Keffi is 50 kilometers from Abuja. Nasarawa State university is located in Keffi sitting along Keffi-Akwanga express way. It has an area of 138 km and a population of about 92,664 at the 2006 census. The postal code of the area is 961. Keffi town was founded around 1802 by a Fulani warrior leader Abdu Zanga who took the title of emir. His small dominion was subject to the Zaria emirate to which it had to pay an annual tribute of slaves. In 1902 Keffi was the location of an incident that led to the British invasion of Northern Nigeria, after the "magaji", a representative of the Zaria sultan killed a British officer. Abdullahi Adamu
Abdullahi Adamu (born 23 July 1946) was governor of Nasarawa State in Nigeria from 29 May 1999 to 29 May 2007. He is a member and newly elected chairman of the ruling Party All progressives congress (APC). Background Abdullahi Adamu was born at Keffi, Nasarawa State, on 23 July 1946. He attended the Government Secondary School, Makurdi (1960–1962), the Government Technical College, Bukuru (1962–1965) and Kaduna Polytechnic (1965–1968). He returned to Kaduna Polytechnic for a Higher National Diploma in June 1971. Adamu started work in 1967 with the Electricity Corporation of Nigeria. All Progressives Congress
The All Progressives Congress (APC) is one of the two major contemporary political parties in Nigeria, along with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
