Narendra Man Singh
Narendra Man Singh ( ne, नरेन्द्र मान सिंह) (1958-?-27 November 2009) was a Nepalese footballer. He was the first Nepali player to play professional football in India, and played for the Nepal national team in the 1982 Asian Games. He played nearly eight years for the two Indian sides Mafatlal Group SC and Mahindra United. 1982 Asian Games
The 9th Asian Games ( hi, 1982 एशियाई खेल) were held from 19 November to 4 December 1982, in Delhi, India. 74 Asian and Asian Games records were broken at the event. This was also the first Asiad to be held under the aegis of the Olympic Council of Asia. Delhi joined Bangkok as the cities to host multiple editions of the Asian Games up to this point. Mumbai Football Club was an Indian professional football club based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, that competed in the I-League, then top flight of Indian football league system, alongside the MDFA Elite League. It was founded in 2007, with the objective of providing a platform for the young aspiring footballers from the city to showcase their talent and to try to make it to the big stage. The club gained promotion to the I-League after winning the 2008 I-League 2nd Division, and finished 7th in their maiden I-League campaign in 2008–09 season. Mahindra United Football Club (formerly known as Mahindra & Mahindra) was an Indian professional football club based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Founded in 1962, the club competed in the I-League, then top tier of Indian football league system, before closing down at the end of 2009–10 season. Affiliated with the MFA, the club participated in both the National Football League, and MDFA Elite League. Nicknamed "Jeepmen", the club was popularly referred as India's MU after the English Premier League powerhouse Manchester United. Republica are an English alternative rock band formed in 1994. The height of their popularity spanned from 1996 to 1999. The current line-up consists of Saffron (vocals), Tim Dorney (keyboards), Johnny Male (guitar), Conor Lawrence (drums). The Republica sound was described by the band as "technopop punk rock".
