Narasimham (film)
''Narasimham'' () is a 2000 Indian Malayalam-language action drama film directed by Shaji Kailas and written by Ranjith. The film stars Mohanlal in the title role with Thilakan, N. F. Varghese, Aishwariyaa Bhaskaran and Jagathy Sreekumar in pivotal roles. Mammootty appears in a cameo role. The film was the first production of Aashirvad Cinemas, owned by Antony Perumbavoor, the former chauffeur of Mohanlal. ''Narasimham'' was released on 26 January 2000, India's 50th Republic Day, where the film ran for 200 days in theatres. The film was re-released under the name ''Narasimham Returns'' in 2014, which premiered in Dubai and was re-released in Kerala on several occasions, where it still enjoys a cult following. The film was remade in Telugu as ''Adhipathi'' (2001), starring Mohan Babu, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Preeti Jhangiani and Soundarya. Shaji Kailas
Shaji Kailas (born 8 February 1965) is an Indian film director and screenwriter known for his works in Malayalam cinema. Shaji got a breakthrough with the comedy film ''Dr. Pasupathy'' (1990). He is best known for his action films with mainly focusing on political thriller and crime genres such as ''Thalastaanam'' (1992), ''Sthalathe Pradhana Payyans'' (1993), ''Ekalavyan'' (1993), ''Mafia'' (1993), ''Commissioner'' (1994), '' The King'' (1995), '' Aaraam Thampuran'' (1997), '' Narasimham'' (2000) , ''Valliettan'' (2000), ''Kaduva'' and ''Kaapa''(2022). Muhammad Kutty Panaparambil Ismail (; born 7 September 1951), known mononymously by the hypocorism Mammootty (), is an Indian actor and film producer who works predominantly in Malayalam cinema, Malayalam films. ''Adhipathi'' () is a 2001 Indian Telugu-language action film, produced by Mohan Babu under his Sree Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures banner and directed by Ravi Raja Pinisetty.
