Naranjas De Villa Clara
The Azucareros de Villa Clara (Villa Clara Sugarmakers) is a baseball club that plays in the Cuban National Series. Based in Santa Clara, the Naranjas have been one of the league's most successful Cuban squads over the last 30 years; winning championships in 1983, as well as three-year run from 1993 to 1995. They also lost the 1996, 2003, 2004 and 2010 finals to the Industriales. Orange, white and black are their colors; although they have three different colors, the orange is what represents them, even though teams like Sancti Spíritus Gallos also wore orange uniforms. Eight Villa Clara's players have been members of the Cuba national baseball team in the World Baseball Classic. Yolexis Ulacia
Yolexis Ulacia Carrazana (born 1978) is a Cuban baseball relief pitcher. Career After nine seasons in the Cuban leagues (through the 2007-2008 campaign), he had gone 50-38 with 68 saves and a 3.24 earned run average (ERA) in 334 games for Villa Clara. Ulacia was the winning pitcher in the Cuban Serie Nacional All-Star Game in both 2003 and 2004. In the winter of 2003-04, he led all pitchers with 45 games pitched. He led again in that department with 42 appearances in 2004-05 and 39 in 2006-2007. After 26 games in 2008-2009, he had 17 saves and made the Cuban roster for the 2009 World Baseball Classic. In the Classic, Ulacia saved one game and allowed one run in one inning. Isidro Pérez (May 24, 1964 – January 9, 2013) was a Mexican professional boxer in the Lightweight division. Pérez is a former two-time WBO Flyweight Champion. Professional career In May 1986, Isidro won the Mexican National Light Flyweight Championship by beating veteran Jorge Cano. WBC Light Flyweight Championship In his first World Championship attempt he lost a very disputed twelve-round decision to Jung-Koo Chang in Chungmu Gymnasium, Daejeon, South Korea. WBO Flyweight Championship On August 18, 1990 Pérez won the WBO Flyweight Championship by upsetting Puerto Rico's Angel Rosario with a twelfth round T.K.O. in Ponce, Puerto Rico.
