Napsiah Omar
Napsiah binti Omar (21 April 1943 – 16 April 2018) was a Malaysian educator and politician. The daughter of United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) activists, Napsiah was born in Negeri Sembilan. She studied zoology and botany at the Australian National University and received a BSc in nutrition and education from Cornell University. From 1969 to 1982, Napsiah taught at the Universiti Pertanian Malaysia, becoming associate professor and head of the Department of Human Studies. In 1972, she joined the local branch of the UMNO. She was elected to the Dewan Rakyat representing the constituency of Kuala Pilah (1982-1995; 1999–2004) and was named Deputy Minister of Housing and Local Government. She became divisional head of ''Wanita UMNO'' (the women's wing) and was also named to its national executive council. In 1987, she was named Minister of Public Enterprises. The Malay language has a complex system of Style (manner of address), styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. He was also the President of the Dewan Negara from April 2010 to April 2016 for six years and Member of Parliament (MP) for Kuala Pilah from April 1995 to November 1999 for a term. The Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly ( ms, Dewan Undangan Negeri Sembilan) is the state legislature of the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan. It consists of 36 members who represent single-member constituencies throughout the state. Elections are held no more than five years apart, and are usually conducted simultaneously with elections to the federal parliament and other state assemblies (except Sarawak). It is unicameral. 1995 Malaysian General Election
A general election was held between Monday, 24 April and Tuesday, 25 April 1995 for members of the 9th Parliament of Malaysia. Voting took place in all 192 parliamentary constituencies of Malaysia, each electing one Member of Parliament to the Dewan Rakyat, the dominant house of Parliament. State elections also took place in 394 state constituencies in 11 out of 13 states of Malaysia (except Sabah and Sarawak) on the same day. Dewan Rakyat
The Dewan Rakyat (English: 'House of Representatives'; ) is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament, the federal legislature of Malaysia. The chamber and its powers are established by Article 44 of the Constitution of Malaysia. The Dewan Rakyat sits in the Houses of Parliament in Kuala Lumpur, along with the Dewan Negara, the upper house. The Dewan Rakyat is a directly elected body consisting of 222 members known as Members of Parliament (MPs).
