Nao Kodaira
Nao Kodaira ( ja, 小平 奈緒; born 26 May 1986) is a Japanese former long track speed skater who specialised in the sprint distances. She is the 2018 Olympic champion in the 500 m distance. Kodaira is the first Japanese woman to win an Olympic gold medal in speed skating. In 2009, she graduated from Shinshu University with a bachelor's degree in education. Career At the 2010 Winter Olympics she won a silver medal in the team pursuit event. She placed 5th in the 1000 and the 1500 m events and 12th in the 500 m one at the Olympics. At the 2014–15 World Cup stop in Seoul, South Korea, on 21 November 2014, she won the 500 m event, and she has a total of 25 podium placings in the World Cup. At the 2015 World Single Distance Championships, she won the bronze medal in the 500 m event. 2009 Winter Universiade
The 2009 Winter Universiade, the XXIV Winter Universiade took place in Harbin, China. Student athletes from 44 countries took part in the games. Selection Harbin was selected by FISU on January 10, 2005 over future 2011 Winter Universiade host city Erzurum. They were the only two candidates. Venues Harbin now has four stadiums for international ice games and five training stadiums. Among the venues, the following are mentioned in the official web site: * Yabuli Olympic Snow Sports Center (about 100 km from Harbin) * Heilongjiang University * Harbin International Conference Exhibition and Sports Center (Both stadium and gymnasium) These venues were used for the Asian Games and were part of Harbin's unsuccessful application for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Universiade
The Universiade is an international multi-sport event, organized for university athletes by the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name is a portmanteau of the words "University" and "Olympiad". The Universiade is referred to in English as the World University Games or World Student Games; however, this latter term can also refer to competitions for sub-University grades students. In July 2020 as part of a new branding system by the FISU, it was stated that the Universiade will be officially branded as the FISU World University Games.
