Nande Yer
Nande Yer was a Papua New Guinean rugby league footballer who represented Papua New Guinea at the 1995 World Cup. Early life Nande Yer was born about 1970 in Ialibu, a small village in the Southern Highlands Province of what was then the Territory of Papua and New Guinea, under the control of Australia. His cousin, Raymond Kahl, is also a Papua New Guinean footballer. Playing career Yer played for the Mendi Muruks and represented the Northern Zone in 1991 against the touring Great Britain Lions. Ialibu
Ialibu is a small township in the Southern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea, serving as the headquarters for the Ialibu-Pangia District. It also caters for the Imbongungu speaking people of the Imbonggu Electorate. Ialibu is the transit point into the Kagua-Erave Electorate. The construction route of the Gulf Highway. Mendi Muruks Players
Mendi, Papua New Guinea, is the provincial capital of the Southern Highlands Province. The Lai River flows by the town. It is served by Mendi Airport. The town falls under Mendi Urban LLG. Geography The town is located in the Mendi River Valley, above sea level, on the limestone hills from west to east. Great Britain Lions
The Great Britain national rugby league team represents Great Britain in rugby league. Administered by the Rugby Football League (RFL), the team is nicknamed The Lions. For most of the 20th century, the Great Britain team toured overseas, played against foreign touring teams and competed in the Rugby League World Cup, which they won three times: in 1954, 1960 and 1972. Since 1995, the RFL has sent separate home nations teams to the World Cup. Great Britain continued to compete as a Test playing nation both home and away. They competed against Australia for the Ashes, and New Zealand for the Baskerville Shield, as well the Tri-Nations series with both Australia and New Zealand.
