Nanda Karnataki (8 January 1939 – 25 March 2014) known mononymously as Nanda, was an Indian actress who appeared in Hindi and Marathi films. As one of the most popular actresses in Hindi cinema, her career spans over 30 years and she is best known for her performances in ''Chhoti Bahen'', ''Dhool Ka Phool'', ''Bhabhi'', ''Kala Bazar'', ''Kanoon'', '' Hum Dono'', '' Jab Jab Phool Khile'', ''Gumnaam'', '' Ittefaq'', '' The Train'' and ''Prem Rog''. Hum Dono (1961 Film)
Hum Dono (''Both of Us'') is a 1961 Hindi film produced by Dev Anand and Navketan films. Amarjeet is credited as the film's director, but producer and star Dev Anand claimed that it was his brother Vijay Anand, who directed the film, based on his own script. The film stars Dev Anand in a double role, and also has Sadhana, Nanda and Leela Chitnis. It was relaunched in colour after exactly 50 years on 4 February 2011. The film is also known for its music by Jaidev and became a box office hit. The movie was later made in Telugu as '' Ramuni Minchina Ramudu'' with N. T. Rama Rao. Also a Bengali movie Uttarayan was made starring Uttam Kumar in the lead based on the novel by Tarashankar Bandopadhyay. Hum Dono's story is loosely based on Uttarayan. Bhalji Pendharkar (3 May 1897 – 26 November 1994) was a film personality in India, and recipient of Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the most prestigious award in the field. Baburao Pendharkar (22 June 18968 November 1967), was an Indian actor, director, film producer and writer. Personal life Baburao Pendharkar was born on 22 June 1896 in Kolhapur in a Brahmin family.
