Miss Nepal ( ne, मिस नेपाल) is a national beauty pageant in Nepal. The winners are sent to Miss World, Miss Earth, Miss International, Miss Supranational. History Ever since the pageant started from 1994, historically the winner of the Miss Nepal pageant represented the Nepal in the Miss Asia Pacific. After 1997, the Hidden Treasures collaborated with Kathmandu Jaycees and formed two pageants of Kathmandu Jacyees Miss Nepal and Hidden Treasures Miss World Nepal. From 1998 onwards, the winner of Miss Nepal has been sent to Miss World contest and the 1st runner up to Miss Asia Pacific. No contest was held in 2001 because of the Nepalese royal massacre. From 2004, the 2nd runner up has been granted to represent Nepal in the pageant Miss Earth but it changed a year later, to 1st runner up as it had been stopped sending to Miss Asia Pacific. Miss World 2021
Miss World 2021 was the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant, held at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico on 16 March 2022. The coronation was originally scheduled to be held on 16 December 2021 at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum. However, the pageant was rescheduled to 16 March 2022 due to the COVID-19 outbreak in Puerto Rico. Contestants from 97 countries and territories competed in this year's pageant, featuring the smallest number of candidates at the pageant since 2003. The pageant was hosted by Peter Andre for the second time, and Fernando Allende. Don Omar, Gente de Zona, Victor Manuel, Pedro Capó, and the Puerto Rico Philharmonic Orchestra (''Filarmónica de Puerto Rico'') conducted by Angel Velez with guest conductor Mike Dixon performed in this year's pageant. Hidden Treasures Fanta Miss Nepal 2016, the 21st annual Miss Nepal beauty pageant, was held on 8 April 2016 at Hotel Annapurna in Kathmandu. Miss Nepal 2015 Evana Manandhar crowned her successor Asmi Shrestha as Miss Nepal World 2016 to represent Nepal in the Miss World 2016. At the same event, Roshni Khatri was crowned as Miss Earth Nepal 2016 and Barsha Lekhi was crowned as Miss International Nepal 2016. The winner of Miss Nepal 2016 served as the brand ambassador of popular drink Fanta and WWF Nepal for a one year. In addition, she received Rs. 100,000 as prize for winning the title. The auditions of Miss Nepal were held in Biratnagar, Birgunj, Chitwan, Nepalgunj, Pokhara, Butwal and Kathmandu. Anushka Shrestha ( ne, अनुष्का श्रेष्ठ) (born 18 December 1996) is a Nepalese beauty pageant title holder who was crowned Miss World Nepal 2019 on 9 May 2019. Shrestha also won Miss Nepal Oceania 2018. She was crowned by her predecessor Shrinkhala Khatiwada. Early life and education Shrestha was born on 18 January 1996 in Kathmandu, Nepal. Her mother, Mukta Shrestha, is a fashion designer who owns a boutique called Muku Boutique situated in Kupondole, Lalitpur. Shrestha completed her SLC from Triyog High School, and Junior College from Ace Higher Secondary School.
