Naleraq Politicians
Naleraq (, ), previously known as Partii Naleraq, is a centrist-populist pro-independence political party in Greenland. History In January 2014 Hans Enoksen announced that he was forming a new political party after leaving Siumut. In the November 2014 general election the party won three seats, taken by Enoksen, Per Rosing-Petersen (another former Siumut member) and Anthon Frederiksen (a former Association of Candidates member). In the April 2018 general election, the party increased its vote share and won four seats in parliament. In May 2018, MP Henrik Fleischer left the party and switched to Siumut. On 15 February 2021 the party changed its name and logo. Pele Broberg
Pele Broberg (born 1972) is a Greenlandic politician (Naleraq), entrepreneur and pilot. He became minister of foreign affairs, trade, climate and business in April 2021, but foreign affairs and climate was transferred to premier of Greenland Múte Bourup Egede in September 2021 after a controversy. Broberg was minister for finance in 2018. Biography Broberg was born in Copenhagen in 1972. His family moved to Greenland while he was an infant and he grew up in Qeqertarsuaq. Broberg graduated from High School in Aasiaat in 1992 and trained as a pilot at SAS Flight Academy in 1995. He then worked as a pilot at Air Greenland 1995-1997 and at Aviation Assistance 1997-1998. From 1999 to 2014 Broberg was captain at Air Greenland. In February 2018, he became a clerk in the Department of Trade and Business, but is on leave while he is minister. 2014 Greenlandic General Election
Early general elections were held in Greenland on 28 November 2014. They were called after Prime Minister Aleqa Hammond resigned following a spending scandal. Siumut and Inuit Ataqatigiit emerged as the largest parties both winning 11 of the 31 seats. A three party coalition government was formed consisting of the incumbent Siumut and Solidarity parties alongside the Democrats. 2022 Danish General Election
General elections were held in the Kingdom of Denmark on 1 November 2022, except in the Faroe Islands, where they were held on 31 October as 1 November was a national day of mourning for victims at sea. Of the 179 members of the Folketing, 175 were elected in Denmark proper, two in the Faroes and two in Greenland. The elections were called on 5 October following an ultimatum to the government by the Social Liberal Party (which had been providing external support) due to the outcome of a report on the 2020 Danish mink cull by the Mink Commission, which was critical of the government. Voter turnout was 84% in Denmark, 48% in Greenland, and 71% in the Faroes with a combined turnout of 84% for the Realm as a whole. 2019 Danish General Election
General elections were held in the Kingdom of Denmark on 5 June 2019 to elect all 179 members of the Folketing; 175 in Denmark proper, two in the Faroe Islands and two in Greenland. The elections took place ten days after the European Parliament elections. The elections resulted in a victory for the "red bloc", comprising parties that supported the Social Democrats' leader Mette Frederiksen as candidate for Prime Minister. 2018 Greenlandic General Election
General elections were held in Greenland on 24 April 2018, electing all 31 members of Parliament. The elections were required to be held no later than 26 November 2018, four years after the previous elections on 27 November 2014, but Prime Minister Kim Kielsen chose to call the elections seven months early. His Siumut party remained the largest in Parliament, but lost two seats, whilst Inuit Ataqatigiit, the second-largest party, lost three seats. The smaller Democrats and Partii Naleraq gained seats, with the newly formed Cooperation Party and Nunatta Qitornai parties both entering Parliament.
