Nahirianka Rural Hromada
Nahirianka ( uk, Нагі́рянка) is a village or rural settlements ( uk, селище, selysche) located in the Chortkiv Raion (district) of the Ternopil Oblast (province of Western Ukraine). It hosts the administration of Nahirianka rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The area of the village totals is 14,80 km2 and the population of the village is about 2122 people. Local government is administered by Nahirianska village council. Geography The village is located on the banks of the Cherkaska River (right tributary of Seret River , Dniester River basin). An oblast ( uk, о́бласть; ) in Ukraine, often called a region or province, is the main type of first-level administrative division of the country. Jagielnica, Chortkiv Raion
Yahilnytsia is a village in Chortkiv Raion (district) of Ternopil Oblast (province) in western Ukraine. It belongs to Nahirianka rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The village was a formidable center of Jewish activity prior to World War II. The Polish village of Jagielnica is its namesake and was founded by residents of this town fleeing Nazi occupation. Etymology According to Polish researchers, the name "Jagielnica" derives from "Jagiellonian", the name of the Polish royal family. Ukrainian researcher Mikhail Kryschuk wrote in his 2011 book ''Toponomy of Ternopil'' that the Ukrainian "Yahil'nytsya" may derive from the Lithuanian name for the Slavic deity Jarilo and/or the Tatar word meaning "hell" or "lofty place" ( tt-Cyrl, яґел, ''yagel''). Zalishchyky ( ; uk, Залiщики, Zalishchyky; pl, Zaleszczyki), also spelled Zalischyky, is a small city located on the Dniester river in Chortkiv Raion of Ternopil Oblast (province), in western Ukraine. Hromada
A hromada ( uk, територіальна громада, lit=territorial community, translit=terytorialna hromada) is a basic unit of administrative division in Ukraine, similar to a municipality.
