Nagamalai
Nagamalai ("naga"=snake, "malai"=hill) is a suburb of Madurai situated about 10 km west of Madurai City, Tamil Nadu, India, along the Madurai-Theni highway. Environment Hills Madurai is surrounded by eight hillocks that once served to guard the city from invading forces. Of these hills, three small but prominent hills ( Yanaimalai, Pasumalai and Nagamalai — Elephant, Cow, and Snake Hill respectively) have several interesting legends associated with them. Samanar Hills, which is opposite to Nagamalai, is of historical importance. Samanars (Tamil Jain) were said to have stayed on the hill, fearing persecution from the then rulers of Madurai. Many stone statues and other artifacts are present in Nagamalai. Biodiversity Nagamalai is also known for its snake biodiversity, and a government proposal is in the works for creating an ecotourism snake park in the area. Madurai ( , also , ) is a major city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the cultural capital of Tamil Nadu and the administrative headquarters of Madurai District. Tamil Jains (Tamil Samaṇar, from Prakrit '' samaṇa'' "wandering renunciate") are Tamils from Tamil Nadu, India, who practice Jainism (Tamil ). Nadar Mahajana Sangam S
Gaspard-Félix Tournachon (5 April 1820 – 20 March 1910), known by the pseudonym Nadar, was a French photographer, caricaturist, journalist, novelist, balloonist, and proponent of heavier-than-air flight. In 1858, he became the first person to take aerial photographs. Photographic portraits by Nadar are held by many of the great national collections of photographs. His son, Paul Nadar (1856–1939), continued the studio after his death. Snake

Samanar Hills, also known as Samanar Malai or Amanarmalai or Melmalai, is a rocky stretch of hills located near Keelakuyilkudi village, west of Madurai city, Tamil Nadu, India.
