Nafiseh Kohnavard
Nafiseh Kohnavard ( fa, نفیسه کوهنورد) is a multilingual correspondent who is focused on Middle East issues for BBC World Service/ BBC Persian. She has covered the fight against Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, the siege of Sinjar, Iraq where the terrorist group massacred thousands of people from the Yazidi religious minority, and the battle between Islamic State and the Kurdish Peshmerga for Kobane in Syria. Kohnavard has been based in Turkey, Lebanon, Iraq as well as the UK and spent most of her time for some years on the front lines against Islamic State militants with the Kurdish Peshmarga, Iraqi, US army forces. Al Asad Airbase
Ayn al Asad is an Iraqi Armed Forces base located in Al Anbar Governorate (also called Anbar province) of western Iraq. It was originally known as Qadisiyah Airbase. Kobanî
Kobanî (, , also rendered , ar, كُوبَانِي, Kūbānī) (Kurdish: Kobanî/ کۆبانی) officially Ayn al-Arab ( ar, عَيْن الْعَرَب, ʿAyn al-ʿArab ), is a Kurdish-majority city in northern Syria, lying immediately south of the Syria–Turkey border. Sayyid Mohammad Khatami ( fa, سید محمد خاتمی, ; born 14 October 1943) is an Iranian politician who served as the fifth president of Iran from 3 August 1997 to 3 August 2005.
