Nadia Yanowsky
Nadia Yanowsky is a Spanish ballet dancer. Early life and family Yanowsky was born in Madrid and raised in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands. She is the daughter of Russian ballet dancer Anatol Yanowsky and Spanish ballet dancer Carmen Robles, who both danced with the Opéra National de Lyon, Lyon Opera Ballet. She is the sister of ballet dancers Yury Yanowsky and Zenaida Yanowsky. She began her ballet training at a school run by her parents and won a silver medal and audience prize at the Luxemburg International Ballet Competition. Career Yanowsky began her professional career in 2002 at the English National Ballet. In 2003 she joined the Berlin State Ballet and was promoted to demi-soloist. In 2008 she moved to Amsterdam and joined the Dutch National Ballet as grand sujet, and was promoted to the rank of soloist two years later. ''Symphony in C'', originally titled ''Le Palais de Cristal'', is a ballet choreographed by George Balanchine, to Georges Bizet's Symphony in C. The ballet was originally created for the Paris Opera Ballet, and premiered on July 28, 1947 at Théâtre National de l'Opéra. Production Georges Bizet (1838 – 1875) wrote Symphony in C when he was 17-year-old student, and the score was not found until 1933. Composer Igor Stravinsky informed choreographer George Balanchine about this discovery. In 1947, as a guest ballet master at the Paris Opera Ballet, Balanchine choreographed the ballet, then titled ''Le Palais de Cristal'', to "showcase for the talent of the whole company." ''Agon'' is a 22-minute ballet for twelve dancers with music by Igor Stravinsky. It was choreographed by George Balanchine. Stravinsky began composition in December 1953 but was interrupted the next year; he resumed work in 1956 and concluded on April 27, 1957. The music was premiered in Los Angeles at UCLA's Royce Hall on June 17, 1957, conducted by Robert Craft.
