Naas
Naas ( ; ga, Nás na Ríogh or ) is the county town of County Kildare in Ireland. In 2016, it had a population of 21,393, making it the second largest town in County Kildare after Newbridge. History The name of Naas has been recorded in three forms in Irish: , translating as 'Place of Assembly of the Kings'; , translating to 'the Place of Assembly'; and , translating to 'Place of assembly of the Leinster Men'. In the Middle Ages, Naas became a walled market town and was occasionally raided by the O'Byrne and O'Toole clans from the nearby area which became County Wicklow. Naas features on the 1598 map by Abraham Ortelius as ''Nosse''. A mayor and council were selected by local merchants and landowners. Naas Botha
Hendrik Egnatius 'Naas' Botha (born 27 February 1958) is a South African former rugby union player, who played for Northern Transvaal and South Africa (the Springboks). He was voted ''Rugby Player of the Year'' in 1979, 1981, 1985 and 1987. Botha mostly played in the fly-half position and is now a rugby commentator for the South African M-Net and Supersport TV channels. He is also the Head coach of the Men's and women's national rugby union team of India. Family and early career Botha was born in the town of Breyten in the Eastern Transvaal (now Mpumalanga), South Africa and went to school at the Hoërskool Hendrik Verwoerd in Pretoria. Roberta Naas (born March 19, 1958) is an American journalist and author. During her career she has specialized in the world of timepieces. Early years Roberta Naas is a native of Hawthorne, New Jersey where she graduated from Hawthorne High School (New Jersey), Hawthorne High School in 1976. Naas later attended Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Lawrenceville, NJ, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree specializing in Journalism. While attending Rider University, she became a member of Sigma Delta Chi (Society of Professional Journalists) and of Alpha Lambda Delta (Leadership Society). Stefan Naas (born 23 November 1973) is a German politician from the Free Democratic Party. From 2009 to 2018 he served as mayor of the city of Steinbach (Taunus). He has been a member of the Landtag of Hesse since January 2019 . Early life Stefan Naas was born in Frankfurt and grew up in Steinbach (Taunus). The National Assembly Party ( ar, حزب التجمع الوطني) or NAAS () is an opposition party of Saudi Arabia with members mostly in exile. Founded in September 2020 on Saudi National Day, it is the first organized political resistance founded during the rule of King Salman, during which, as of , political parties remained banned. Platform NAAS is described as a pro-democracy group. The group maintains that the country should be governed with the idea of separation of powers, calling for creation of an elected parliament and an independent judiciary based on a constitution approved by the people. Naval Air Station Meridian or NAS Meridian is a military airport located 11 miles northeast of Meridian, Mississippi in Lauderdale County and Kemper County, and is one of the Navy's two jet strike pilot training facilities.
