Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency (commonly known as Waka Kotahi, and abbreviated as NZTA) is a New Zealand Crown entity tasked with promoting safe and functional transport by land, including the responsibility for driver and vehicle licensing, and administering the New Zealand state highway network. It was created on 1 August 2008 by the Land Transport Management Amendment Act 2008, merging Transit New Zealand with Land Transport New Zealand. Its legal name, as established by the Act, is New Zealand Transport Agency, but it trades as ''Waka Kotahi'' ''NZ Transport Agency''., superseded by The Māori part of the name, ''Waka Kotahi'', means "one vessel" and is intended to convey the concept of "travelling together as one". Waikato Expressway
The Waikato Expressway is a dual carriageway section of (SH 1) in New Zealand's Waikato region. Constructed in stages, it forms part of the link between Auckland and Hamilton. Currently stretching from Auckland to south of Cambridge, the highway was first built in 1993. Throughout its current lifetime, it had underwent many upgrades to optimize traffic flow throughout the Waikato region, including various bypasses of most towns in the region, and lastly Hamilton in 2022. The final part of the Expressway was completed on 12 July 2022. The expressway forms a long continuous four-lane dual carriageway from the Bombay Hills to beyond the town of Cambridge, south-east of Hamilton. Brian Roche (business Executive)
Sir Brian Joseph Roche (born ) is a New Zealand business executive. Roche was born in the Hawke's Bay. He attended St John's College in Hastings. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington. He started his working career with Coopers and Lybrand in 1979 as an accountant. He stayed with the company, which later became PricewaterhouseCoopers, for 20 years and became a senior partner. In the 1990s, he was chief Crown negotiator for Treaty of Waitangi claims and settlements; he had a major influence on the 1997 Ngāi Tahu settlement. A Warrant of Fitness (WoF) is an official New Zealand document certifying that a light motor vehicle has passed a compulsory periodic inspection of safety and roadworthiness. Most vehicles with a gross mass under that are used on public roads are required to undergo a WoF test, with the frequency depending on the age of the vehicle. Since 1 January 2014, vehicles first registered on or after 1 January 2000 must undergo a WoF test annually; older vehicles must undergo a WoF test every six months. Philip Stoner Twyford (born 4 May 1963) is a politician from New Zealand and a member of the Labour Party. He has been a Member of Parliament since 2008. He is the Labour Party MP for Te Atatū. Dame Frances Helen Wilde (née Kitching, born 11 November 1948) is a New Zealand politician, and former Wellington Labour member of parliament, Minister of Tourism and Mayor of Wellington.
