Brian Roche (business Executive)
Sir Brian Joseph Roche (born ) is a New Zealand business executive. Roche was born in the Hawke's Bay. He attended St John's College in Hastings. He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University of Wellington. He started his working career with Coopers and Lybrand in 1979 as an accountant. He stayed with the company, which later became PricewaterhouseCoopers, for 20 years and became a senior partner. In the 1990s, he was chief Crown negotiator for Treaty of Waitangi claims and settlements; he had a major influence on the 1997 Ngāi Tahu settlement. In 2004, Roche became the inaugural chairman of the Auckland Regional Transport Authority. In 2008, he was appointed the inaugural chairman of the NZ Transport Agency. Hawke's Bay ( mi, Te Matau-a-Māui) is a local government region on the east coast of New Zealand's North Island. The region's name derives from Hawke Bay, which was named by Captain James Cook in honour of Admiral Edward Hawke. The region is governed by Hawke's Bay Regional Council. Geography The region is situated on the east coast of the North Island. It bears the former name of what is now Hawke Bay, a large semi-circular bay that extends for 100 kilometres from northeast to southwest from Māhia Peninsula to Cape Kidnappers. Jock Hobbs
Michael James Bowie Hobbs (15 February 1960 – 13 March 2012), generally known as Jock Hobbs, was a New Zealand rugby union player and administrator. A Flanker (rugby union), flanker, he played for Canterbury Rugby Football Union, Canterbury and won 21 caps for the New Zealand national rugby union team, New Zealand national team, the All Blacks, between 1983 and 1986, with four tests as captain. Heather Simpson is a New Zealand civil servant who was chief of staff for Prime Minister of New Zealand Helen Clark for nine years and who worked with Clark for more than 20 years. Political career Heather Simpson is a former economics lecturer who lectured at Otago University. She stood for Parliament twice for Labour, in Awarua in and in Heretaunga in . In both cases she came second, losing by 2,480 votes in Awarua and 832 votes in Heretaunga.
