JANET NRS
The JANET NRS (''Name Registration Scheme'') was a pseudo-hierarchical naming scheme used on United Kingdom, British academic and research networks in the 1980s. It used a reverse domain name notation. History It was proposed in 1983 and used until the superficially similar Internet Domain Name System was fully adopted. Structure The NRS "second-level domains" consisted of (JANET academic and scientific sites), (commercial) and (Ministry of Defence (United Kingdom), Ministry of Defence). Any organisations not falling into these categories were given their own "second-level" name, e.g. (British Library) or (National Engineering Laboratory). All NRS names had both a ''standard'' (long) and ''abbreviated'' (up to 18 characters) form. For example, was the less widely used standard equivalent of the abbreviated name . For email, interoperability between the "Coloured Book, Grey Book" email addressing style of and ARPA and USENET addresses of the style was achieved by way o ...

Norwegian Air UK
Norwegian Air UK Ltd was a British airline and a fully integrated subsidiary of low-cost airline Norwegian Air Shuttle, using its corporate identity. The airline operated Boeing 787-9 aircraft on scheduled services between Europe, Asia, and the Americas from its base at Gatwick Airport, south of London. In January 2021, Norwegian Air Shuttle announced it would cease all long-haul operations, which included those of Norwegian Air UK. History In November 2015, the British civil aviation authorities issued Norwegian Air UK its air operator's certificate (AOC), and a single Boeing 737-800 was subsequently registered to the airline. The following month, the airline applied to the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) for an exemption and a permit to begin flights to the country. In June 2016 however, the USDOT denied Norwegian Air UK's request for an exemption, which would have allowed the airline to start flights to the United States while its foreign air-carrier permi ...

Non-rocket Spacelaunch
Non-rocket spacelaunch refers to theoretical concepts for launch into space where much of the speed and altitude needed to achieve orbit is provided by a propulsion technique that is not subject to the limits of the rocket equation. Although all space lauches to date have been rockets, a number of alternatives to rockets have been proposed. In some systems, such as a combination launch system, skyhook, rocket sled launch, rockoon, or air launch, a portion of the total delta-v may be provided, either directly or indirectly, by using rocket propulsion. Present-day launch costs are very high – $2,500 to $25,000 per kilogram from Earth to low Earth orbit (LEO). As a result, launch costs are a large percentage of the cost of all space endeavors. If launch can be made cheaper, the total cost of space missions will be reduced. Due to the exponential nature of the rocket equation, providing even a small amount of the velocity to LEO by other means has the potential of greatly reduc ...

NRS Process
{{inline, date=June 2024 The NRS process (New Regeneration System) is a process to reduce calcium from beet-root thin-juice. It is used in beet-sugar factories to improve the capacity and operating time of evaporators and to produce soft molasses that can be further de-sugarised with chromatography. The original technology was invented by AKZO for a different application. It was first used in French sugar factories, starting in the 1970s. Plants may have a capacity of 100-1000 m3/h or greater. The system is often used in the US, France, and Britain. German sugar makers traditionally prefer to invest into bigger evaporation capacity. The NRS-installation will consist of a number of columns filled with strong-acid-cationic resin. It is installed after carbonatation and filtration and before evaporation. The resin is loaded with sodium Na+ ion An ion () is an atom or molecule with a net electrical charge. The charge of an electron is considered to be negative by conventio ...
