National Institute of Fashion Technology Kannur known as NIFT Kannur is one of the 17 campuses of NIFT, an institution for Fashion, Design, Technology and Management. It is located in the Dharmashala, Kannur, Dharmashala locality (Taliparamba Taluk), outside the city of Kannur in Kerala, South India. Location The NIFT Centre at Kannur is one of the newer additions to the network of existing government-run fashion schools across India. NIFT
National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) is an autonomous institute that offers courses in fashion, designing, technology, and management. Its head office is located in New Delhi, India. History NIFT was established in 1986 under the Ministry of Textiles of the Government of India. It was declared as a statutory institute in 2006 and empowered to grant its own degree by the NIFT Act of the Indian Parliament. Along with the Ministry of Textiles, NIFT is in the process of creating a India specific size chart. The project was fully underway in 2021. ''Kalamkari'' is a type of hand-painted cotton textile produced in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Only natural dyes are used in ''Kalamkari'', which involves twenty-three steps.
