NC 540
Interstate 540 (I-540) and North Carolina Highway 540 (NC 540) are part of a partially completed beltway around the city of Raleigh in the US state of North Carolina, forming the Raleigh Outer Loop. When complete, the route will completely encircle the city, meeting its parent route of I-40 in two locations. The initial phase of construction is designated I-540 and was completed in January 2007. It runs from I-40 near the Raleigh–Durham International Airport to I-87/ U.S. Highway 64 (US 64)/US 264 south of Knightdale. The original plan was for the entire route to be designated as part of the Interstate Highway System, possibly renumbering the route to I-640 when the beltway was complete. Interstate 885
Interstate 885 (I-885) and North Carolina Highway 885 (NC 885) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway and state highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It links NC 540 and I-40 to I-85 in the Durham area. The route consists of two previously preexisting segments of freeway— NC 147 to the south and US 70 to the north—connected by the East End Connector, which opened to traffic on June 30, 2022. NC 147 was truncated and removed from the southern half of the Durham Freeway and the northern section of the Triangle Expressway, which were redesignated I-885 and NC 885, respectively. Triangle Town Center is a shopping mall in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is located in North Raleigh off U.S. Highway 1 (Capital Boulevard) and Interstate 540. The current anchors at the mall are Belk, Dillard's, Macy's, and Saks Fifth Avenue. A fifth anchor, Sears, closed in 2021. The store itself sits vacant as of January 2023.
