NBL (Australia) All-Star Game
The NBL All-Star Game was a special event basketball game that has run in the past as part of the Australian National Basketball League. When held, the All-Star game has been between two teams composed of star players from that season. The first NBL All-Star Game was held in 1982 at the Apollo Stadium in Adelaide with the East defeating the West 153–148 with Leroy Loggins taking the first of two All-Star MVP awards. It was next held in 1988 at The Glass House in Melbourne and was then held every season until 1997. After a seven-year hiatus, the NBL revived the All-Star game for the 2003–04 NBL season and it was held every season until 2007–08. For the 2012–13 season, the NBL brought back the All-Star game, having it played on 22 December 2012 at the Adelaide Arena. The 1992, 1993 and 1994 All-Star games featured the Australian Boomers team playing against the USA Stars (1992) and the NBL Stars in 1993 and 1994. 2012 NBL All-Star Game
The 2012 National Basketball League All-Star Game was held at the 8,000 seat Adelaide Arena in Adelaide, South Australia on 22 December 2012. The game was won by the ''South All-Stars'', 134 points to the ''North All-Stars'' 114. Melbourne Tigers shooting guard Chris Goulding electrified the 4,523 in attendance, scoring 24 points (including several Slam dunks), grabbing 5 rebounds and handing out 4 assists on his way to winning the game's MVP award. The game was broadcast on Network Ten in Australia and it was the first NBL All-Star Game since 2007/08. The game was played between the South All-Stars – represented by players from the Adelaide 36ers, Melbourne Tigers, New Zealand Breakers and Perth Wildcats – and the North All-Stars – represented by players from the Cairns Taipans, Sydney Kings, Townsville Crocodiles and Wollongong Hawks. Brisbane Bullets
The Brisbane Bullets are an Australian professional men's basketball team in the National Basketball League (Australia), National Basketball League (NBL) based in Brisbane, Brisbane, Queensland. They competed from 1979 to 2008, and returned to the league in 2016. Brisbane were one of ten NBL foundation teams and have won three NBL championships, being successful in the 1985 and 1987 seasons, and again in 2007. They also competed in the 1984, 1986 and 1990 grand finals. The team reached the playoffs 21 times in their illustrious 30-year history. On 30 June 2008, it was announced that the Bullets license had been returned to the NBL, following financial difficulties for owner Eddy Groves and the failure of attempts to find a new ownership group. Terry Dozier
Terry Linnard Dozier (born June 29, 1966) is an American former professional basketball player and coach. He played high school basketball at Dunbar High in Baltimore and later attended the University of South Carolina, where he played from 1985 to 1989. After his collegiate playing career concluded, Dozier went undrafted in the 1989 NBA draft but signed with the Charlotte Hornets of the National Basketball Association (NBA) for the 1989–90 season. He played nine games with the team, in which he averaged 2.4 points and 1.7 rebounds, before he was waived on November 27, 1989. As he wasn't able to secure a spot on an NBA roster the following year, Dozier went on to play the remainder of his professional career internationally. Dozier played for the Geelong Supercats and Newcastle Falcons in Australia's National Basketball League (NBL). Rod Laver Arena is a multipurpose arena located within Melbourne Park, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
