2012 NBL All-Star Game
The 2012 National Basketball League All-Star Game was held at the 8,000 seat Adelaide Arena in Adelaide, South Australia on 22 December 2012. The game was won by the ''South All-Stars'', 134 points to the ''North All-Stars'' 114. Melbourne Tigers shooting guard Chris Goulding electrified the 4,523 in attendance, scoring 24 points (including several Slam dunks), grabbing 5 rebounds and handing out 4 assists on his way to winning the game's MVP award. The game was broadcast on Network Ten in Australia and it was the first NBL All-Star Game since 2007/08. NBL (Australia) All-Star Game
The NBL All-Star Game was a special event basketball game that has run in the past as part of the Australian National Basketball League. When held, the All-Star game has been between two teams composed of star players from that season. The first NBL All-Star Game was held in 1982 at the Apollo Stadium in Adelaide with the East defeating the West 153–148 with Leroy Loggins taking the first of two All-Star MVP awards. It was next held in 1988 at The Glass House in Melbourne and was then held every season until 1997. After a seven-year hiatus, the NBL revived the All-Star game for the 2003–04 NBL season and it was held every season until 2007–08. For the 2012–13 season, the NBL brought back the All-Star game, having it played on 22 December 2012 at the Adelaide Arena. Wollongong Hawks
The Illawarra Hawks (formerly the Wollongong Hawks and The Hawks) is an Australian professional basketball team based in Wollongong, New South Wales. The Illawarra Hawks compete in the National Basketball League (NBL) and play their home games at WIN Entertainment Centre, known colloquially as "The Sandpit". Seth Scott (born November 2, 1981) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for Utah Valley and Portland State before playing professionally in Hungary, Cyprus, France, Mexico, Australia and Puerto Rico. Thomas Abercrombie (basketball)
Thomas Iain Abercrombie (born 5 July 1987) is a New Zealand professional basketball player for the New Zealand Breakers of the Australian National Basketball League (NBL). A product of Westlake Boys High School in Auckland, Abercrombie had a short-lived college basketball stint with Washington State before debuting in the Australian NBL in 2008 with the Breakers. Cedric Lamar Jackson (born March 5, 1986) is an American former professional basketball player. He played two years of college basketball for Cleveland State University, where he made a notable game-winning full-court shot against Syracuse and helped the Vikings past Wake Forest in the first round of the 2009 NCAA Tournament. Cal Bruton
Calvin Thomas Bruton, (born 29 September 1954) is an American-born Australian former professional basketball player and coach. He has been an integral part of the National Basketball League (NBL) since its inception. Bruton won an NBL championship with the Brisbane Bullets in 1985, was a two-time member of the All-NBL First Team while playing for the Geelong Supercats and was named NBL Coach of the Year while he was a player-coach for the Supercats in 1982. Mark Davis (born December 23, 1960) is an American-Australian former professional basketball player.
