''NBC News at Sunrise'' is an American early morning television news program that aired on NBC from August 1, 1983 to September 6, 1999. The program featured the top news headlines of the morning, sports and weather reports, and business segments. Many of the program's anchors also appeared on NBC's morning news program ''Today''. History ''NBC News at Sunrise'' debuted on August 1, 1983, with Connie Chung as its main anchor, Bill Macatee serving as sports anchor and Joe Witte serving as weather anchor. The program replaced ''Early Today'' as NBC's early morning news program, that program debuted in July 1982 and was hosted by ''Today'' anchors Bryant Gumbel, Jane Pauley and Willard Scott. The multiple-camera setup, multiple-camera mode of production, multi-camera or simply multicam is a method of filmmaking and video production. Several cameras—either film or professional video cameras—are employed on the set and simultaneously record or broadcast a scene. It is often contrasted with a single-camera setup, which uses one camera. Description Generally, the two outer cameras shoot close-up shots or "crosses" of the two most active characters on the set at any given time, while the central camera or cameras shoot a wider master shot to capture the overall action and establish the geography of the room. In this way, multiple shots are obtained in a single take without having to start and stop the action. James Carmen Cefalo (born October 6, 1956) is an American journalist, news broadcaster and sports broadcaster, radio talk show host, Voice of the Miami Dolphins, businessman, wine enthusiast and former professional American football wide receiver and game show host. Biography High school career Cefalo attended Pittston Area High School in Pittston, Pennsylvania. It was his performance there that led to his inclusion on The Pennsylvania Football News All-Century Team. Listed at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds during his senior year for head coach Bob Barbieri's Patriots, Cefalo was one of the nation's most highly recruited running backs. The ''CBS Morning News'' is an American early-morning news broadcast presented weekdays on the CBS television network. The program features late-breaking news stories, national weather forecasts and sports highlights. Since 2013, it has been anchored by Anne-Marie Green, who concurrently anchored the CBS late-night news program ''Up to the Minute'' until its cancellation in September 2015. Willard Scott
Willard Herman Scott Jr. (March 7, 1934 – September 4, 2021) was an American weather presenter, radio and television personality, actor, narrator, clown, comedian, and author, whose broadcast career spanned 68 years, 65 years with the NBC broadcast network. Scott is best known as a weather reporter on NBC's ''Today'' show where he also celebrated US centenarian birthdays and notable anniversaries. Jane Pauley
Margaret Jane Pauley (born October 31, 1950) is an American television host, and author, active in news reporting since 1972. Pauley first became widely known as Barbara Walters's successor on the NBC morning show ''Today'', beginning at the age of 25, where she was a co-anchor from 1976 to 1989, at first with Tom Brokaw, and later with Bryant Gumbel; for a short while in the late 1980s she and Gumbel worked with Deborah Norville. In 1989, with her job apparently threatened with Norville's addition to the program, she asked to be let out of her contract, and her request was granted. Her next regular anchor position was at the network's newsmagazine ''Dateline NBC'' from 1992 to 2003, where she teamed with Stone Phillips. Bryant Charles Gumbel (born September 29, 1948) is an American television journalist and sportscaster, best known for his 15 years as co-host of NBC's ''Today''. He is the younger brother of sportscaster Greg Gumbel. Joe Witte (born 1943) is currently an Outreach Specialist for Aquent, a contractor of Jet Propulsion Laboratory, NASA. He adapts science content for use by 2,000 television meteorologists around the country. Joe Witte started his career as a glaciologist for the USGS, working on the ice of South Cascade Glacier, in the northern Cascades of Washington State, as well as the Nisqually Glacier of Mt. Rainier and Blue Glacier on Mt. Olympus. He was the principal investigator on ice island T-3 in the Arctic Ocean studying the Greenhouse infrared radiation budget as well as the ice crystals of the Arctic clouds, winter and summers. Bill Macatee
Bill Macatee (born November 17, 1955) is an American sports broadcaster for CBS Sports and Tennis Channel. Early life and career Macatee was born in Rome, New York, and grew up in El Paso, Texas. He graduated from Burges High School in El Paso. In 1978, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. While in college, Macatee worked at KLTV-TV in Tyler, Texas as well as KTVV-TV in Austin, Texas. He became Sports Director at KBMT-TV in Beaumont, Texas where he was hired by Bill Paradoski. Following that he worked at KMBC-TV in Kansas City before spending three years at WFAA-TV in Dallas, Texas.
