The N12 is a national route in South Africa which runs from George through Beaufort West, Kimberley, Klerksdorp and Johannesburg to eMalahleni. It is the only other National Route after the N1 Route that connects the Western Cape Province with the Gauteng Province. Prior to 1971, the N12 from Johannesburg to Three Sisters was known as the N13. Route Summary The road starts in George in the Western Cape and ends in eMalahleni in Mpumalanga. The road runs roughly from south to north, however, once it passes Kimberley in the Northern Cape, it gradually turns eastward. Only the section between Soweto and eMalahleni is a limited access dual motorway. The section between Klerksdorp and Potchefstroom is a dual carriage highway. The N12 or National Highway 12 is a national highway in Ghana that begins at the Ghana - Côte d'Ivoire border in the Western Region of Ghana and travels generally north to Hamile on the Ghana - Burkina Faso border. The N12 road is one of the shortest national primary roads in the Republic of Ireland, running from outside Monaghan (where it leaves the N2) to the border with County Armagh, Northern Ireland, at ''Ardgonnell Bridge'' outside Middletown. The N12 is part of an overall route running from Cavan Town to Belfast. Nebraska Highway 12 is a highway in northern and northeastern Nebraska. It has a western terminus at U.S. Highway 83 in Valentine and an eastern terminus at U.S. Highway 20 west of Jackson. The Route nationale 12, or RN12, is a trunk road ( nationale) in France connecting Paris with Brittany. The road forms part of European route E50. It is approximately long. History Until the 1950s, the RN 12 followed a different itinerary between Mayenne and Rennes. At Mayenne, the RN 12 was going south to Laval (now RN 162) then going west to Vitré and Rennes (now RD 57 and 857, former RN 157). The itinerary from nowadays was named RN 155 until Fougères and RN 177 from Fougères to Rennes. The RN12 has been superseded into a freeway in a big part of its itinary; the old road has been re-numbered as the RD912, RD812 and RD712. The H&BR Class F2 (LNER Class N12) was a class of 0-6-2T steam locomotives of the Hull and Barnsley Railway. It was designed by Matthew Stirling and nine locomotives were built by Kitson & Co. in 1901. Equipment The locomotives had domeless boilers and rounded cabs and were fitted with vacuum brakes.
