Mweya Airport
Mweya Airport is a small civilian airport in Uganda. It is one of the 46 airports in the country. Location Mweya Airport is located in Mweya, Kasese District, in western Uganda, approximately , by air, west of Entebbe International Airport, the country's largest civilian and military airport. Overview Mweya Airport serves the area of Mweya and the neighboring areas of Queen Elizabeth National Park and the Lake Katwe Explosion Crater. As of January 2010, the airport was not under the administration of the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority. Mweya Airport receives daily flights from Murchison Falls National Park, Entebbe International Airport and Kajjansi Airfield, which are frequently used by tourists to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is a national park in Uganda. Location Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP) is in the Western Region of Uganda, spanning the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri. Entebbe International Airport
Entebbe International Airport is the only international airport in Uganda. It is located about southwest of the town of Entebbe, on the northern shores of Lake Victoria. This is approximately by road south-west of the central business district of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. The headquarters of the Civil Aviation Authority of Uganda have been relocated to a new block off the airport highway (Entebbe–Kampala Expressway and Tunnel Road), but adjacent to the airport terminals. Katwe Craters
The Katwe craters or Katwe-Kikorongo explosion craters are a group of volcanic craters within Queen Elizabeth National Park in Toro sub-region, Toro, Uganda. The volcanic field is roughly in size. The individual craters vary widely in size, but the largest are up to in diameter and deep. The unusual formations were formed individually by a series of violent volcanic explosions over the last 1 million years. These maar, maar craters are a result of magma coming in contact with groundwater driving large steam explosions.
