Murarrie Railway Station
Murarrie railway station is located on the Cleveland line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Murarrie. It opened in 1888 as Mooraree and the name of both the station and the locality were changed to Murarrie in 1907. On 15 July 1996, the Fisherman Islands line to the Port of Brisbane opened to the north of the station. To the east of the station a disused spur to Gibson Island branches off. Murarrie (formerly Mooraree) is an eastern riverside suburb in the City of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. In the , Murarrie had a population of 4,303 people. Queensport is a neighbourhood within Murarrie (). Gibson Island is a neighbourhood within Murarrie () and, despite its name, is no longer an island. Geography Murarrie is located in the eastern suburbs on the southern bank of the Brisbane River. It is bounded to the north by the median of the Brisbane River, to the east and south by the river's tributary Bulimba Creek (historically known as Doughboy Creek or Doboy Creek) which has its mouth at . Cleveland Railway Station
Cleveland railway station is located on the Cleveland line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the suburb of Cleveland in the Redland City. History In 1889, the Cleveland line was extended from Manly to the original Cleveland station. In 1897, the line was extended to the second Cleveland station. Cleveland station opened as the Raby Bay railway station in 1914. On 1 November 1960, the station closed when the line was truncated to Lota. When the station reopened on 24 October 1987, the former Raby Bay station became the third to carry the name Cleveland. Incidents On 31 January 2013, a passenger train, IMU173, overshot the railway line and collided with the station, severely damaging a toilet block and the railway station and injuring 14 people. Manly Railway Station
Manly railway station is located on the Cleveland line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Manly. History Manly station opened in 1888 as the original terminus of the line. The line was later extended to the original Cleveland station in 1889. In 1992, the original timber station was demolished after becoming infested with termites. To the west of the station lies a City network stabling yard. Services Manly is served by Cleveland line services from Shorncliffe, Northgate, Doomben and Bowen Hills to Cleveland. During morning peak hour 7 trains begin their service at Manly while 6 services from Cleveland during the same time run express Manly-Morningside. Bowen Hills railway station is located on the North Coast line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Bowen Hills. North of the station, the Ferny Grove line branches off. The station is one of four inner city stations that form a core corridor through the centre of Brisbane. History There have been three railways stations named Bowen Hills. The first from 1882 to 1889 was near Campbell Street. In 1890, a new station opened at the south end of the Abbotsford Road tunnel. In 1971, to allow for the Mayne marshalling yards to be expanded, Bowen Hill and Mayne Junction stations were closed with a new Bowen Hills station opening in 1973. As part of the quadruplication of the line from Roma Street station, Platforms 3 and 4 opened on 11 June 1996. Doomben railway station is the terminal station of the Pinkenba line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Ascot adjacent to Doomben Racecourse. History The Pinkenba line opened on 1 April 1897 to Pinkenba. A station for Doomben Racecourse was opened in 1909 alongside the Nudgee Road level crossing, and in 1976 a new station named Whinstanes-Doomben opened slightly farther east; Whinstanes was the name of the industrial branch line that crosses Kingsford Smith Drive to the Hamilton Cold Stores. The station was renamed Doomben when the line was electrified on 6 February 1988. Shorncliffe railway station is the terminus station of the Shorncliffe line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Shorncliffe. History The railway line from Brisbane to Sandgate opened in 1882, and the terminal station, located near Curlew Street, was named Sandgate. The line was extended to Shorncliffe in 1897, and the name Sandgate was transferred to the new terminal station. In 1938 it was renamed Shorncliffe. Overview The magazine's publisher is the Australian Railway Historical Society (ARHS), NSW Division. History The first building for Central railway station was a structure of wood and corrugated galvanised iron, and opened on 18 August 1889 as the terminus of the line when it was extended from Roma Street railway station.
