Mundo Literário
''Mundo literário: semanário de crítica e informação literária, científica e artística'' (Portuguese for "World Literature") was a Portuguese review published in Lisbon from 1946 to 1948. The seminary's weekly director-general was Jaime Cortesão Casimiro and its literary head was Adolfo Casais Monteiro, they formed a directive body to the journal, Emil Andersen and Luís de Sousa Rebelo. Its creation occurs of a context of lack of freedom of the press, being in the sights of censorship. 53 issues were made. A previous leaflet announced the coming of the weekly, which brought up-to-date information in culture, it covered literature, theatre, cinema, scientific views, lecture tribunal, plastic arts, books and more. Alves Redol
António Alves Redol (29December 191129November 1969) was an influential Portuguese neorealist writer. Life Redol was born in 1911 in Vila Franca de Xira to Antonio Redol da Cruz, a shopkeeper, and Inocência Alves Redol. When he was fifteen, his articles were published in the local weekly newspaper, . After finishing secondary school in 1927, he traveled to Portuguese Angola where he stayed for three years. His stay in Angola influenced Redol's worldview and later literature. In 1936, he married Maria dos Santos Mota. Early work, 1930–1940 Redol published stories in the newspapers and in which he identified with the opposition to the Estado Novo. On 29 November 1936, in his first collaboration with , the short story was published. Kangondo had an African feel. Carlos Drummond De Andrade
Carlos Drummond de Andrade () (October 31, 1902 – August 17, 1987) was a Brazilian poet and writer, considered by some as the greatest Brazilian poet of all time. He has become something of a national cultural symbol in Brazil, where his widely influential poem "Canção Amiga" ("Friendly Song") has been featured on the 50- cruzado novo bill. Murilo Mendes
Murilo Monteiro Mendes (May 13, 1901 – August 13, 1975) was a Brazilian Modernist poet, considered to be one of the forerunners of the Surrealist movement in Brazil. Biography Mendes was born in Juiz de Fora, in the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, on May 13, 1901. He subsequently moved to Niterói in order to finish his high school, and settled in Rio de Janeiro afterwards. Mendes alleges that two happenings of his life inspired him to become a poet: the sighting of Halley's Comet in 1910, and a performance of Russian ballet dancer Vaslav Nijinsky he attended in 1917. Aguinaldo Fonseca (22 September 1922; Mindelo, Cape Verde – 24 January 2014; Lisbon, Portugal) was a Cape Verdean poet. António Branquinho Da Fonseca
António José Branquinho da Fonseca (4 May 1905 – 7 May 1974) was a Portuguese writer. Some of his early works were published under the pseudonym António Madeira. He is best remembered as the first editor of ''Presença'', "one of the most important, if not the most important, Portuguese literary reviews of the twentieth century", and for the novella ''The Baron''. Mário Emílio de Morais Sacramento (July 7, 1920 – March 27, 1969) was a Portuguese physician and essayist that became famous for his antifascist activities against the dictatorial regime led by Oliveira Salazar in Portugal. Fernando Namora
Fernando Namora (15 April 1919 – 31 January 1989), with the full name Fernando Gonçalves Namora was a Portuguese writer and medical doctor. Namora was born in Condeixa-a-Nova, Coimbra District and died in Lisbon, Portugal. He received his medical degree at 1942, by the University of Coimbra. Those years as student would have influenced him as a man (and writer) as well his experience as a country doctor, in remote regions as Beira Baixa and Alentejo, till the year of 1950, when he moved to Lisbon, invited to be medical assistant at the Instituto Português de Oncologia.
