Mountain House is a planned community in San Joaquin County, California. It is located in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area at the border of the San Joaquin Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area, Mountain House is northwest of Tracy, 10 miles from Livermore, 0.5 miles from Interstate 580 to San Francisco, and about east of San Francisco. The population was 24,499 at the 2020 census. For statistical purposes, the United States Census Bureau has defined Mountain House as a census-designated place (CDP). History The Cholbon triblet of the Northern Valley Yokuts were the original inhabitants of the Mountain House area. Their territory ran along Old River a distributary of the San Joaquin River. Mountain House High School
Mountain House High School is a four-year, public high school located in the town of Mountain House near Tracy, California. On July 17, 2012, Lammersville Joint Unified School District broke ground on construction. The school opened in the Fall of 2014. San Joaquin Valley
The San Joaquin Valley ( ; es, Valle de San Joaquín) is the area of the Central Valley of the U.S. state of California that lies south of the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta and is drained by the San Joaquin River. It comprises seven counties of Northern and one of Southern California, including, in the north, all of San Joaquin and Kings counties, most of Stanislaus, Merced, and Fresno counties, and parts of Madera and Tulare counties, along with a majority of Kern County, in Southern California. Old River (California)
The Old River is a tidal distributary of the San Joaquin River that flows for about through the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta in Northern California. The Old River was once the main channel of the San Joaquin until navigation (Stockton Deepwater Shipping Channel) and flood control projects in the late 19th and 20th century fixed the San Joaquin to its present course past Stockton.
