Mount Valin
Mount Valin is the highest mountain of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region (as measured from sea level) in the Canadian province of Quebec. Situated from Chicoutimi, the mountain receives an average of of rain and of snow every year. Mount Valin is an important site used for transmission facilities for radio and television stations in the region. Saguenay ( , , ) is a city in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada, on the Saguenay River, about north of Quebec City by overland route. It is about upriver and northwest of Tadoussac, located at the confluence with the St. Lawrence River. It was formed in 2002 by merging the cities of Chicoutimi and Jonquière and the town of La Baie, Quebec, La Baie. Chicoutimi was founded by French colonists in 1676. The city of Saguenay constitutes a territory equivalent to a regional county municipality (TE); its geographical code is 941. Together with the regional county municipality of Le Fjord-du-Saguenay Regional County Municipality, Le Fjord-du-Saguenay, it forms the Census geographic units of Canada, census division (CD) of Le Saguenay-et-son-Fjord (94). CJAB-FM is a French-language Canadian radio station located in Saguenay, Quebec. Its studios are located at Rue Racine Est in the former city of Chicoutimi (co-located with sister stations CFIX-FM and Noovo owned-and-operated station CFRS-DT), with its transmitter atop Mount Valin. Owned and operated by Bell Media, it broadcasts on 94.5 MHz using a directional antenna with a peak effective radiated power of 100,000 watts ( class C). The station has a mainstream rock format and is part of the "Énergie" network which operates across Quebec. Chicoutimi () is the most populous borough (arrondissement) of the city of Saguenay in Quebec, Canada. It is situated at the confluence of the Saguenay and Chicoutimi rivers. Mont-Valin, Quebec
Mont-Valin is an unorganized territory in the Canadian province of Quebec. It makes up over 87% of Le Fjord-du-Saguenay Regional County Municipality and is the largest subdivision of the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region. The territory, named after Mount Valin, had a population of 10 as of the Canada 2021 Census, and covered a land area of 33,540.39 km2. The territory has one settlement: the hamlet of Chutes-des-Passes, located north of Chicoutimi (). It was founded in 1941, when Alcan built a dam on the Peribonka River. When operation of the dam was automated in 1974, the community was almost entirely abandoned.
