Moshe Poliakov
Moshe (Mosta) Poliakov ( he, משה (מוסטה) פוליאקוב) was an Israeli footballer and manager, one of the founders of Hapoel Tel Aviv and the first captain of the club, and one of the most decorated coaches in Israeli football. Biography Poliakov was born in Russian Empire in 1910, and immigrated to Palestine in 1922 with his family. At the age of only 14, he was one of the founders of the Tel Aviv "Allenby Team", together with his brother, Shlomo Poliakov. This team joined forces with the Hapoel Tel Aviv team in 1927, and Poliakov was the first captain of the united team. He played in the team as a defender together with his brother, and scored 5 goals in 42 appearances in the recorded games. In 1928 Hapoel Tel Aviv won the first cup of the Land of Israel, The People's Cup. In 1934 Poliakov retired from active playing and began managing Hapoel Tel Aviv. The 1928 People's Cup ( he, גביע העם, ''Gvia HaAm'') was the first season of Israeli Football Association's nationwide football cup competition. Matches began on 7 April 1928 and the final was played on 26 May 1928. Hapoel Allenby Tel Aviv won the cup, beating Maccabi Hasmonean Jerusalem 2–0 in the final. The 1938–39 Palestine League was the sixth season of league football in the British Mandate for Palestine. The defending champions were Maccabi Tel Aviv. According to the Israel Football Association, Hapoel Tel Aviv won the title. League matches were played from 5 February 1938 to 4 June 1938, completing the first half of the season before the summer break. However, as the Arab revolt intensified in fall 1938 and with the High commissioner issuing restrictive orders on travel throughout Palestine, the EIFA created a two-tiered league for the Tel Aviv region, with matches played in the league counting towards the national league. The defending champions, British Police didn't take part in this season following an order by the High Commissioner forbidding British teams to play Jewish teams. Palestine League
The Palestine League, also known as The Eretz Israel League, was an association football league during the British Mandate of Palestine (now Israel), which was contested from 1928 to 1948. Yisrael Poliakov
Yisrael "Poly" Poliakov ( he, ישראל "פולי" פוליאקוב; July 7, 1941 – October 30, 2007) was an Israeli comedian and actor. Poliakov was born in Jerusalem, and grew up in Tel Aviv. He became one of the three members of the Israeli comedy group, HaGashash HaHiver (The Pale Tracker). Career Born in Jerusalem and the son of footballer Shlomo Poliakov, he originally chose a career as a farmer and studied at the Kfar HaYarok agricultural high school. This changed when he was spotted at a school party by members of Nahal Brigade's entertainment troupe, and he was soon recruited by the group. In 1961, he joined the original singing band Hatarnegolim (The Roosters) that had been founded by Naomi Polani, the original cast of which broke up in 1964. Poliakov appeared in a number of famous Israeli films, often with members of HaGashash HaHiver.
