Moscow Central Diameters
The Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) (russian: links=no, Московские центральные диаметры (МЦД), Moskovskiye tsentralnye diametry (MTsD)) are a system of city train services on existing commuter rail lines in Moscow and Moscow Oblast, Russia. The system began operation on 21 November 2019, when the first two lines were launched. After first 9.5 months of operation, the passenger traffic of the Moscow Central Diameters reached 100 million. On 27 December 2019, passengers made record 554.6 thousand trips. Lines Line D3 is planned to be launched in August 2023. D4 will be launch in September. The schedule for the development of the infrastructure of the Central Transport Hub in 2023 was signed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and head of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov in December 2022. Ivolga (train)
The Ivolga (named after "иволга" bird, e.g. Eurasian golden oriole), designation ''EG2Tv'', is an electric multiple unit passenger train produced and manufactured by Tver Carriage Works (TVZ) for urban and commuter service. First 2 trains were in use on Moscow railways — Novoperedelkino express route in 2017 — 2018 before extension of the Moscow Metro . Since 2018, they are working on Usovo branch of Belorussky suburban railway line in preparation for launch of Moscow Central Diameters D1 Line. The exterior and interior styling, however, was outsourced: TVZ ordered the design of the concept train to Integral Design and Development, S.A. company (Barcelona, Spain). A natural scale mock-up was built by Integral Design and presented in Russia in 2015. D5 (russian: МЦД-5) or Yaroslavsko-Paveletsky Diameter (russian: Ярославско-Павелецкий диаметр) is the fifth line of the Moscow Central Diameters The Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) (russian: links=no, Московские центральные диаметры (МЦД), Moskovskiye tsentralnye diametry (MTsD)) are a system of city train services on existing commuter rail lines in Moscow an ... which will open in the future. The line will consist of 48 stations with two branches (Fryazino and Schyolkovo branch) with the Fryazino branch railway upgrade already underway. Although many routes were proposed for D5 in the beginning, the route that proposed of D5 passing with an underground connection at Kitay-Gorod station from Yaroslavskiy Railway Terminal to Paveletskaya was decided as the final one. Rail transport (also known as train transport) is a means of transport that transfers passengers and goods on wheeled vehicles running on rails, which are incorporated in tracks. S-train
The S-Bahn is the name of hybrid urban- suburban rail systems serving a metropolitan region in German-speaking countries. Some of the larger S-Bahn systems provide service similar to rapid transit systems, while smaller ones often resemble commuter or even regional rail. Crossrail
Crossrail is a railway construction project mainly in central London. Its aim is to provide a high-frequency hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system crossing the capital from suburbs on the west to east, by connecting two major railway lines terminating in London: the Great Western Main Line and the Great Eastern Main Line. The project was approved in 2007, and construction began in 2009 on the central section and connections to existing lines that became part of the route, which has been branded the Elizabeth line in honour of Queen Elizabeth II who opened the line on 17 May 2022 during her Platinum Jubilee. The Réseau Express Régional ( en, Regional Express Network), commonly abbreviated RER (), is a hybrid commuter rail and rapid transit system serving Paris and its Île-de-France, suburbs. It acts as a combined city-centre underground rail system and suburbs-to-city-centre commuter rail. In the city centre it acts much like the Paris Métro, though faster, having fewer stops. Kursky Railway Terminal
Kursky railway terminal (russian: Ку́рский вокза́л, ''Kursky vokzal''), also known as Moscow Kurskaya railway station (russian: Москва́-Ку́рская, ''Moskva-Kurskaya''), is one of the ten railway terminals in Moscow. It was built in 1896, and renovated (without major design changes) in 1938, then a large glass facade and modern roof was added in a 1972 expansion. In 2008, there were plans to completely rebuild or refurbish the station. Kursky station, unlike most Moscow terminals, operates two almost opposite railroad directions from Moscow: one toward Kursk, Russia, after which the station is named, that stretches on into Ukraine, and another toward Nizhniy Novgorod, which is less used by long-distance trains, and is mostly for the high-speed service to Nizhniy. The Moscow International Business Center (MIBC), also known as Moscow-City, is an under-construction commercial development in Moscow, the capital of Russia. The project occupies an area of 60 hectares, and is located just east of the Third Ring Road at the western edge of the Presnensky District in the Central Administrative Okrug. Construction of the MIBC takes place on the Presnenskaya Embankment of the Moskva River, approximately west of Red Square. The complex is home to the highest numbers of skyscrapers in Europe.
