Cedar Run is an unincorporated community in Brown Township, Lycoming County, Pennsylvania, United States. Cedar Run, a stream with the same name as the community, enters Pine Creek at Cedar Run, in the Pine Creek Gorge. The stream is one of a half-dozen tributaries entering from the western side of Pine Creek, along with nearby Slate Run. The Pine Creek Rail Trail passes through Cedar Run. The village is linked to Pennsylvania Route 414 by a spur road crossing a bridge over Pine Creek. History The streams of Cedar Run and Slate Run were significant to the development of the lumber industry in Brown Township in the 1800s. But the abundance of fish and game were as strong a draw for the early settlers as logging. Jacob Lamb is believed to be the first to settle in the area. Leonard Harrison State Park
Leonard Harrison State Park is a Pennsylvania state park in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, in the United States. It is on the east rim of the Pine Creek Gorge, also known as the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, which is deep and nearly across here. It also serves as headquarters for the adjoining Colton Point State Park, its sister park on the west rim of the gorge. Leonard Harrison State Park is known for its views of the Pine Creek Gorge, and offers hiking, fishing and hunting, whitewater boating, and camping. The park is in Shippen and Delmar Townships, west of Wellsboro at the western terminus of Pennsylvania Route 660. Pine Creek Gorge, sometimes called The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania, is a gorge carved into the Allegheny Plateau by Pine Creek in north-central Pennsylvania. Wellsboro, Pennsylvania
Wellsboro is a borough in Tioga County, Pennsylvania. The borough was founded by Benjamin Wistar Morris. It is located northwest of Williamsport. The population was 3,472 at the 2020 census. Early in the 20th century, Wellsboro was the shipping point and trade center for a large area. It had fruit evaporators, flour and woolen mills, a milk-condensing plant, marble works, saw mills, foundry and machine shops, and manufactories of cut glass, chemicals, rugs, bolts, cigars, carriages, and furniture. In 1900, 2,945 people lived here; in 1910, 3,183 lived here. It is the county seat of Tioga County, and also home to the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Route 287 (PA 287) is a state highway in the Tioga Valley of Pennsylvania, United States. Route 287 runs from an intersection with U.S. Route 220 (US 220) in the community of Larrys Creek in Piatt Township, Lycoming County, north to an intersection with PA 49 just south of the New York state line in Lawrenceville, Tioga County. The route follows Larrys Creek through several isolated communities, including Salladasburg and English Center, before working its way towards Hoytville, where it meets PA 414. The route ends up in Wellsboro, where it meets US 6, and reaches Tioga. The alignment of PA 287 has been successor to a set of plank roads from Larrys Creek to Lawrenceville.
