More Radio
Sam FM Swindon was a commercial radio station based in Swindon, England, broadcasting on the 107.7 FM frequency. The station was formed by The Local Radio Company, who wanted to create a local radio rival to GWR FM (now Heart). It started in 2006 as Brunel FM. It would eventually be owned by One Gold Radio Ltd who would rename it to Total Star Swindon, and then More Radio a few years later. Celador would purchase More Radio in 2012 and convert it into Jack FM Swindon. It would then later be re-branded to SamFM Swindon. Due to financial issues and budget cuts at Celador, SamFM Swindon was merged into the Bristol sister station of the same name. In 2020, SamFM would be purchased by Bauer Radio, closed, and then the frequency would be used by Greatest Hits Radio South West, along with a host of other stations. Swindon
Swindon () is a town and unitary authority with borough status in Wiltshire, England. As of the 2021 Census, the population of Swindon was 201,669, making it the largest town in the county. The Swindon unitary authority area had a population of 233,410 as of 2021. The new town constructed for the railway workers produced forward-looking amenities such as the UK’s first lending library and a ‘cradle-to-grave' health care centre that was later used as a blueprint for the NHS. After the Second World War, the town expanded dramatically again, as industry and people moved out from L ...

Radio is very widely used in modern technology, in radio communication, radar, radio navigation, remote control, remote sensing, and other applications. In radio communication, used in radio and television broadcasting, cell phones, two-way radios, wireless networking, and satellite communication, among numerous other uses, radio waves are used to carry information across space from a transmitter to a receiver, by modulating the radio signal (impressing an information signal on the radio wave by varying some aspect of the wave) in the transmitter. In radar, used to locate and track objects like aircraft, ships, spacecraf ...
