Moonrise (festival)
Moonrise Festival is an annual electronic dance music (EDM) festival held in Baltimore, Maryland. In 2013, the festival was scheduled to be held on June 8 and 9 in Port Covington. However, the festival was cancelled due to event organizers failing to get the necessary city permits. In 2014, the festival was held at Pimlico Race Course and was considered an outstanding success with over 30,000 in attendance. The 2015 and 2016 festival were held at the same location on August 8–9, and 6-7 respectively with headliners such as Bassnectar, The Chainsmokers, Zedd, and Tiësto. The 2017 festival returned to Pimlico on August 12–13 with headliners Zeds Dead, Pretty Lights, Carnage, and Dillstradamus. The 2018 edition of the festival took place on August 11–12 with the headliners list including the likes of Marshmello, Diplo, and Cashmere Cat. Diamanté Anthony Blackmon (born January 3, 1991), better known by his current stage name GORDO (stylized in caps) and prior names Carnage, DJ Carnage and Thirty Rack, is a Guatemalan-American record producer and disc jockey. Excision (musician)
Jeff Abel (born 29 April 1986), better known by his stage name Excision, is a Canadian producer and disc jockey. He is the founder of Rottun Recordings and Subsidia Records. Active since 2006, his first release, "Warning", was in 2007. He released an annual "Shambhala" mix album in the third quarter of each year until 2016. He started his own music festival (Lost Lands) the following year and releases annual mixes. He is known for his tours with immense sound systems and huge visual productions. Abel founded the record label Destroid Music. Upon its debut, Destroid released a full-length digital album titled ''The Invasion''. Nicholas Daniel Miller (born December 26, 1990), professionally known as Illenium, is an American DJ, record producer, and songwriter. He has released four studio albums, his most recent being '' Fallen Embers'', released in July 2021. It earned Illenium his first Grammy nomination. One of Illenium's more notable albums, ''Ascend'', was released in August 2019 on Astralwerks. Thomas Wesley Pentz (born November 10, 1978), known professionally as Diplo, is an American DJ and music producer. He is the co-creator and lead member of the electronic dancehall music project Major Lazer, a member of the supergroup LSD with Sia and Labrinth, a member of electronic duo Jack Ü with producer and DJ Skrillex, and a member of Silk City with Mark Ronson. Pretty Lights
Derek Vincent Smith (born November 25, 1981), known by his stage name Pretty Lights, is an American electronic music producer. Pretty Lights was originally a music project consisting of Smith and Michal Menert, who left after the release of their first album. Rick Rubin once described Pretty Lights as "the face and voice of the new American electronic music scene". Early life Smith started skateboarding with Michal Menert in the 8th grade.
