Monroe Township is one of eleven townships in Howard County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 1,325, down from 1,407 in 2010. History Monroe Township was established in 1837. Geography According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of , all land. The streams of Little Wildcat Creek, Walnut Fork and West Honey Creek run through this township. As the 1870 census, New London was an incorporated town with a population of 240 people, which at the time was much more than Russiaville (at 160). In the 1880 census New London is no longer shown as an incorporated town, whereas Greentown (in Liberty Township) was shown as being incorporated. A civil township is a widely used unit of local government in the United States that is subordinate to a county, most often in the northern and midwestern parts of the country. Warren Township is one of fourteen townships in Clinton County, Indiana, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 619 and it contained 244 housing units. Forest Township, Clinton County, Indiana
Forest Township is one of fourteen townships in Clinton County, Indiana. As of the 2010 census, its population was 760 and it contained 328 housing units. The township was named for the large amount of timber it contained at the time it was organized. History After the completion of the " Clover Leaf" railroad through the area in 1874 and the establishment of the town of Forest along it, residents petitioned the county commissioners to create a new township for their area out of the existing Johnson and Warren townships. On January 2, 1882, the petition was granted and the township organized with Samuel M. Davis as the first trustee. The first permanent white settlers in the township were Page and Sarah Sims who arrived in 1839 and resided in the township until their death. The township is served by the Russiaville Post Office. History Honey Creek was organized in 1841 as a township in the northeastern corner of neighboring Clinton County.
