Monica Contrafatto
Monica Graziana Contrafatto (born 9 March 1981 in Gela) is an Italian Paralympic athlete. She competed at the 2016 Summer Paralympics, in 100m T42, winning a bronze medal. She competed at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, in 100m T63. Biography A soldier of the Italian Army's 1st Bersaglieri Regiment Contrafatto was injured on 24 March 2012, during a mortar attack on Forward Operating Base "Ice" in Gulistan District, Farah Province in Afghanistan. As a consequence of her injuries her right leg had to be amputated. A selfie () is a self-portrait photograph, typically taken with a digital camera or smartphone, which may be held in the hand or supported by a selfie stick. Selfies are often shared on social media, via social networking services such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram. They are often casual in nature (or made to appear casual). The International Paralympic Committee (IPC; german: Internationales Paralympisches Komitee) is an international non-profit organisation and the global governing body for the Paralympic Movement. The IPC organizes the Paralympic Games and functions as the international federation for nine sports. A mortar is usually a simple, lightweight, man-portable, muzzle-loaded weapon, consisting of a smooth-bore (although some models use a rifled barrel) metal tube fixed to a base plate (to spread out the recoil) with a lightweight bipod mount and a sight.
