Modern Baseball (band)
Modern Baseball (MoBo) was an American emo band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania consisting of Bren Lukens, Jake Ewald, Sean Huber, and Ian Farmer. The band formed in 2012 at Drexel University and released their first album, ''Sports'', on Lame-O Records that same year. Their following albums, '' You're Gonna Miss It All'' and ''Holy Ghost'', were released on Run For Cover Records in 2014 and 2016 respectively. The group announced an indefinite hiatus in 2017. History Early years and success (2011–2016) Bren Lukens and Jake Ewald met in High School, when Lukens was interested in Ewald's twin sister. They ran in different friend groups, but found common ground through music. Their name was inspired by a book that Lukens and Ewald found in Ewald’s basement, titled “Modern Baseball Techniques". Cayetana were an American rock band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. History Kelly Olsen and Allegra Anka first met while enrolled in a New York college before moving back to their hometown of Philadelphia, where they met Augusta Koch. Cayetana began performing music together in 2011. They released their first extended play, titled ''Cayetana EP'', in 2012. In early 2014, they signed to Tiny Engines and that March released a 7" titled ''Hot Dad Calendar''. On September 9, 2014, Cayetana released their debut full-length album titled '' Nervous Like Me'' via Tiny Engines. Headroom Studios
Headroom Studios is a music recording studio in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was originally started by Kyle Pulley and Joe Reinhart in 2008 in a room in a live/work artist warehouse collective, located in North Philadelphia, until it moved to its current location in a commercial building in the North Philadelphia neighborhood of Kensington. Pulley and Reinhart were college classmates who were active in the Philadelphia DIY punk scene who decided to partner after graduation in order create the studio to start their careers in music. Run for Cover Records is an American independent record label based in Boston, Massachusetts. Founded in 2004 by Jeff Casazza at the age of 17 with a $1,000 loan, the label functioned as a small one-person bedroom operation in Brighton, until Casazza graduated Suffolk University in 2010. Known for working with undiscovered young bands from all over the world, RFC can be credited for helping launch the careers of Tigers Jaw, Modern Baseball, Title Fight, Citizen, Turnover, Pinegrove, Basement, and many more, as well as working with already notable acts like Alex G, Camp Cope, mewithoutYou, Teen Suicide, and Nothing. Somos is an American rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. History Somos began in July 2012 when they self-released a demo titled ''Demo 2012''. On March 25, 2014, Somos released their first full-length album titled ''Temple of Plenty'' via Tiny Engines. On November 4, 2014, Somos released a split with fellow emo band Sorority Noise via Bad Timing Records. On February 24, 2015, Somos and Have Mercy released a split via No Sleep Records. Foxing (band)
Foxing is an American indie rock band from St. Louis, Missouri. The band has released four studio albums, a live album, an EP and 12 singles. History Foxing began in 2011 following the end of the group Hunter Gatherer, a post-rock band active from 2008 to 2010 that featured Josh Coll, Jon Hellwig and Matthew Piva. The initial lineup of the band shortly expanded to include Conor Murphy, who was then the bassist of the then active emo group Family Might and formerly the vocalist of the indie/post-rock band Torchlight Red. Knuckle Puck is an American rock band, formed in 2010 in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. The group released several EPs, one of which, '' While I Stay Secluded'' (2014), peaked at number 5 on the Heatseekers Albums chart. The band released a split EP with the UK band Neck Deep. The group signed to Rise in 2014 and released its debut album, '' Copacetic'', through the label in 2015.
