Mix 96 (Aylesbury)
Greatest Hits Radio Bucks, Beds and Herts (formerly Mix 96) is a classic hits radio station, owned and operated by Bauer. It is part of the Greatest Hits Radio network. It was formerly known as Mix 96 prior to a rebrand by Bauer in 2020. History Former Logo Mix 96 launched on 15 April 1994 broadcasting on 96.2FM, it was the first radio station to gain a permanent licence to serve Aylesbury and the surrounding towns including Thame, Princes Risborough, Tring and Leighton Buzzard. The launch slogan was 'Bucks Best Music' but the station now uses the strapline "Bucks Best Mix of Music". The first song to be played on the radio station was ' Dancing Queen' by ABBA, played at 7:45am on the opening morning, 15 April 1994. Aylesbury ( ) is the county town of Buckinghamshire, South East England. It is home to the Roald Dahl Children's Gallery, David Tugwell`s house on Watermead and the Waterside Theatre. GCap Media was a British commercial radio company formed from the merger of the Capital Radio Group and GWR Group. The merger was completed in May 2005. It was listed on the London Stock Exchange and was a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index. On 31 March 2008 the company agreed a takeover by Global Radio for £375 million. This was completed on 6 June 2008, and the company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Radio. On 1 November 2008, Global Radio discontinued using the name GCap Media. More Radio Hastings, formerly Arrow FM, is an Independent Local Radio station serving Hastings, Bexhill, Battle and surrounding areas. It is owned and operated by Total Sense Media and broadcasts from studios in Worthing, as part of a network of stations across Sussex in South East England. History Arrow FM was founded in 1992 by two local radio executives, Mark Briggs and Matthew Wheeler, who conducted a series of RSL pilot broadcasts in both Hastings and Eastbourne. Three of the transmissions took place in Hastings under the ''Arrow FM'' and ''Splash FM'' branding - the licence holder was local DJ Terry James and the station manager was Terry Kane. Stratford-upon-Avon (), commonly known as just Stratford, is a market town and civil parish in the Stratford-on-Avon district, in the county of Warwickshire, in the West Midlands region of England. Tring is a market town and civil parish in the Borough of Dacorum, Hertfordshire, England.
