Misþyrming () are a black metal band from Reykjavík, Iceland. The band formed in June 2013 and are currently signed to the French record label Norma Evangelium Diaboli. They released their debut studio album ''Söngvar elds og óreiðu'' on 7 February 2015 to widespread critical acclaim. The band have since toured Europe and the United States, performed at Eistnaflug, and were named an 'artist in residence' at the famous Roadburn Festival in 2016. History The band started as founding member D.G.'s solo project. Tómas Ísdal, with whom he ran the Vánagandr record label, joined him. He eventually deferred his graduation date in favour of touring with the band, passing his final exams after being tutored by band-mate Helgi. Roadburn Festival
Roadburn Festival is an international music festival held in Tilburg, Netherlands every April since 1999. It was set up as a spin-off from the Roadburn music blog founded by Jurgen van den Brand and Walter Hoeijmakers. Originally focused on stoner rock, Roadburn grew into a major event spanning the entire spectrum of heavy rock and experimental music. The key staff involved with running the festival are Frens Frijns (managing director, CEO of Tilburg's 013 venue), Walter Hoeijmakers (promoter, artistic director) and Becky Laverty (press, communication, side programme). Since 2014, Roadburn Festival publishes a daily fanzine that is distributed freely to its attendees. Alex Poole
Alex Poole (born October 4, 1986) is an American multi-instrumentalist musician from Nashville, Tennessee. Poole has prolifically contributed to the Black Metal genre having led or contributed to a number of black metal bands including Chaos Moon, Manetheren, Krieg, Skaphe, Martrod, and Gardsghastr. He has also played live with a number of bands to fill in for missing guitarists or bassists over the years (e.g. Adzalaan, Benighted in Sodom, Dagger Lust, Heimnar, In Ruins, and Triumvir Foil). Stage names Alex Poole first recorded music under Alexander during his project, Troglodytic. After that, he used Esoterica as a pseudonym up until 2012 when he began releasing music under a band with the same name. At that point, he began using A. Poole as his stage name. Funeral Mist is a Swedish black metal band formed in Stockholm in 1993. To date, the band have released four full-length albums, three EPs and a compilation boxset. Svartidauði
Svartidauði were an Icelandic black metal band from Kópavogur, Reykjavík that formed in 2002. The name 'Svarti Dauði' is Icelandic for "Black Death". They released three demos before they released their debut album ''Flesh Cathedral'' on Terratur Possessions in 2012, as well as a split EP with the Chilean black metal band 'Perdition'.
