Miss Myanmar 2017
The Miss Universe Myanmar ( my, မယ်စကြဝဠာ မြန်မာ) is an annual national beauty pageant that selects Myanmar's representative to the annual Miss Universe contest. The reigning Miss Universe Myanmar is Zar Li Moe of Bhamo, who was crowned on October 1, 2022 at the Grand Ballroom, Novotel Hotel, in Yangon. History The Miss Universe Myanmar 2013 was held on 3 October 2013 at the National Theatre in Yangon. The winner Moe Set Wine became the first woman to represent the country in the competition since 1961. In 2015, Miss Universe Myanmar Organization crowned two winners to compete in Miss Universe 2015 and Miss Universe 2016 pageants. Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Swe Zin Htet
Swe Zin Htet ( my, ဘုဘုဟိုင်; born 16 November 1999) is a Burmese model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Universe Myanmar 2019. In November 2019, Swe Zin Htet came out as a lesbian, and later that year she became the first openly lesbian woman to compete in a Miss Universe competition. Julia Lemigova of the Soviet Union competed in Miss Universe 1991, Patricia Yurena Rodríguez of Spain competed in the Miss Universe 2013 competition, and Tashi Choden of Bhutan who will compete in Miss Universe 2022 but did not come out until after the competition. Sittwe
Sittwe (; ; formerly Akyab) is the capital of Rakhine State, Myanmar (Burma). Sittwe, pronounced ''sait-tway'' in the Rakhine language, is located on an estuarial island created at the confluence of the Kaladan, Mayu, and Lay Mro rivers emptying into the Bay of Bengal. Mawlamyine
Mawlamyine (also spelled Mawlamyaing; , ; th, เมาะลำเลิง ; mnw, မတ်မလီု, ), formerly Moulmein, is the fourth-largest city in Myanmar (Burma), ''World Gazetteer'' south east of Yangon and south of Thaton, at the mouth of Thanlwin (Salween) River. The first capital of British Burma, the city is currently the capital and largest city of Mon State and the main trading centre and seaport in south eastern Myanmar. Etymology and legend The Mon name which was previously used for Mawlamyine, ''Moulmein'' (; ) means "damaged eye" or "one-eyed man." Kawthaung
Kawthaung ( mnw, ကော့ပိ, , ; th, เกาะสอง; , ; ms, Pulodua, ڤولودوا) is a town located in the southernmost part of Myanmar, in the Tanintharyi Region. Miss Universe Myanmar 2023 the 10th edition of the Miss Universe Myanmar pageant it was held on 14 September 2023 at Novotel Max Hotel, Yangon, Myanmar. Zar Li Moe of Bhamo crowned Amara Bo of Keng Tung her successor at the end of event. The winner represented Myanmar at Miss Universe 2023 competition in El Salvador. Hakha
Hakha (, ; formerly rendered Haka) is the capital of Chin State in Myanmar. Hakha is located in the northeast of Chin State, with a total area of about . The city of Hakha is more than above sea level, founded on a small highland plateau. Although it is relatively small in land area, it is the largest city of Chin State, as well as its capital city, with the plateau significantly larger than that of other towns in Chin State.
