Miss International Malaysia
Miss International Malaysia is a beauty pageant based in Malaysia that sends the winner to the annual Miss International pageant. The pageant was conceived in 1960 and considered as the oldest international beauty pageant in Malaysia. The winner of Miss International Malaysia will represents her country at the Miss International pageant. On occasion, when the winner does not qualify (due to age) for either contest, a runner-up is sent. The reigning Miss International Malaysia are Cassandra Yap of Johor and Ashylnn Ooi of Penang. They were crowned on 1 October 2023 at Sabah International Convention Centre, Kota Kinabalu. Yap represented Malaysia at Miss International 2023 pageant where she was chosen to be in the top 15. Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Miss International 1976, the 16th Miss International pageant, was held on July 2, 1976 at the Imperial Garden Theater in Tokyo, Japan. Kota Bharu
Kota Bharu, colloquially referred to as KB, is a town in Malaysia that serves as the state capital and royal seat of Kelantan.
