Miss International 1986, the 26th Miss International pageant, was held on 31 August 1986 at the Holland Village in Nagasaki. The pageant was hosted by Masumi Okada and the pageant won by Helen Fairbrother of England. Helen Fairbrother
Helen Fairbrother (born c. 1964) is an English beauty queen who was crowned Miss International 1986. Miss International 1986 Fairbrother represented England at the Miss International 1986 pageant when it was held in Nagasaki, Japan on 31 August 1986. She bested 1st runner-up Pia Rosenberg Larsen of Denmark, who would later be crowned 1st runner-up at the Miss World 1986, and 2nd runner-up Martha Cristiana Merino Ponce de León of Mexico, to become the 26th winner of the pageant. Fairbrother would later give up her crown to Laurie Tamara Simpson Rivera of Puerto Rico the following year. Miss United Kingdom 1987 In September 1987, no sooner had Fairbrother relinquished her title of Miss International than she competed in Miss United Kingdom 1987 to vie for the right to compete in the Miss World 1987 which was to be held later that year. Cindy Williams (born October 1, 1963) is a former American news anchor. Williams was a news anchor for WCSH 6 News Center Maine in Portland, Maine for 32 years from 1989 until 2021. Williams has won several awards from the Associated Press and the Maine Association of Broadcasters for her anchoring and reporting. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1985 with a degree in Radio, Television and Film. Cindy was also the anchor of News Seven and the 10 o’clock news on the NBC affiliate in Laurel and Hattiesburg, Mississippi of WDAM-TV. Masumi Okada
was a professional actor, singer, stand-up comedian, and film producer. Also known by his nickname "Fanfan", he was born in Nice, France, to a Japanese father, Minoru Okada, who was an artist, and a Danish mother, Ingeborg Sevaldsen, who was the sister of Eline Eriksen, the model for the "Mermaid of Copenhagen".
