Miss Brasil 2011
The Miss Brazil 2011, the 57th edition of the Miss Brazil pageant, was held in São Paulo on July 23, 2011. The winner was Priscila Machado, who went on to represent Brazil in the 2011 Miss Universe pageant. The 1st runner-up went on to and the 2nd runner-up participated in Miss Continente Americano 2011. Twenty-seven delegates from each state and the Federal District competed for the crown. The current titleholder, Débora Lyra of Minas Gerais, crowned her successor at the end of the event. Adriane Galisteu
Adriane Kelemen Galisteu Iódice (born April 18, 1973) is a Brazilian actress, TV host and former model. Biography Galisteu was born in the city of São Paulo, daughter of Alberto Galisteu and Emma Kelemen, and lived until she was 18 years old in Lapa, a neighborhood in São Paulo. Her father's grandparents, José Galisteo and Maria Muñoz, were Spanish and arrived in Brazil in 1899 on the vessel "Les Alpes", coming from Málaga, Andalusia. Her mother is of Hungarian descent. Galisteu had a difficult childhood due to her father Alberto's alcoholism. His health was affected, and he suffered a heart attack and died in 1989. Adriane, aged fifteen at the time, began working to support her family. Career Galisteu has appeared in the Brazilian edition of Playboy magazine on a number of occasions and was a VJ for MTV Brasil. Rede Bandeirantes (, ''Bandeirantes Network''), or simply known as Band (), is a Brazilian free-to-air television network. It began broadcasting on May 13, 1967 on VHF channel 13 in São Paulo. Priscila Machado (born 4 January 1986) is a Brazilian TV Host model and beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned Miss Brasil 2011. She represented Brazil in Miss Universe 2011, and finished the competition as second runner-up. Personal life Machado was born in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul in 1986. She has dated with the Brazilian swimmer and gold medalist in the 2008 Summer Olympic Games, César Cielo. Priscila Machado became host of the Bola Divida station's RedeTV. Miss Universe 2011
Miss Universe 2011 was the 60th Miss Universe pageant, held at the Credicard Hall in São Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011. At the end of the event, Ximena Navarrete of Mexico crowned Leila Lopes of Angola as Miss Universe 2011. It is the first victory of Angola, and the latest country as of 2022 to win its first crown at the pageant. Contestants from 89 countries and territories competed in this year's pageant, surpassing the previous record of 86 contestants in 2006. Débora Lyra (born September 26, 1989) is a Brazilian actress, model and beauty pageant titleholder who won the Miss Brasil 2010 and worldwide winner of Miss Multiverse in 2014. Biography Lyra was born in Vila Velha, but spent two years living in the town of Divinópolis. She was a model since age 8 and had wanted to be Miss Brasil since age 12. With the encouragement of her father, she soon began to participate in and win some beauty contests. She also landed a few modeling jobs, but at 15, she took a break from acting to work in an export company café, where she remained for four years, to help her family pay for their house.
