Miramar, Portugal
Miramar is a small seaside village near the towns of Gulpilhares and Arcozelo, in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, in the subregion of Greater Porto, Portugal (Grande Porto). About It is an upmarket residential area south of the river Douro, most known for its beach – ''Praia de Miramar'' (Miramar Beach) – and the small chapel called ''Senhor da Pedra'' (Lord of the Rock), which forms the central attraction of a yearly festival. This chapel is also featured in the film clip "San Simon", directed by Richard Tomes with music by the Pikoul Sisters. Indeed, Miramar is home to a number of artists and intellectuals, including Marina Pikoul and David Wyn Lloyd among others. Praia Da Granja
Praia da Granja is a FEE Blue Flag beach located in the Northwest of Portugal, and belongs to the Vila Nova de Gaia municipality, Porto District. This place is also located in the town of São Félix da Marinha . The northern boundary of the beach is bordered by the Ribeira da Granja. Name origin The word Granja means Farm. The geographical location of Granja came from a Bishop Farm situated there in 1758. It belonged at that time to the "Crúzios" Monks and Priests. They used it on hot days as a place to rest and introspect. Portuguese poet Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, who was from Porto, spent the summertime there with her family in their beach house mansion by the sea. Estarreja ( or ) is a municipality in Portugal. The population in 2011 was 26,997, in an area of 108.17 km2. It had 22,746 eligible voters in 2006. The only city in the municipality is Estarreja, which is in the urban parish of Beduido. The city itself has a population of approximately 7,000. Esmoriz () is a Portuguese city located south of Porto. It is a ''freguesia'' ("parish") of the municipality of Ovar, and part of the Região de Aveiro. Valadares is a former civil parish in the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. In 2013, the parish merged into the new parish Gulpilhares e Valadares. The population in 2011 was 10,678, in an area of 5.14 km2. Today the shoreside vicinity is very popular for its nightlife and the bars along its well-known beach. It is also possible to see some old sanatoriums used mostly in the 1940s and 1950s to treat people suffering from bone fractures and diseases like tuberculosis. Costa Verde (Portugal)
Costa Verde ( en, Green Coast) is a tourist and coastal region of northwest Portugal, delimited by the river mouths of Minho in the north and Douro in the south.
