Mira Dancy
Mira Dancy (born 1979) is an American painter. Dancy is known for her paintings on plexiglass of nudes, often executed in bright fluorescent colors. Since her January 2015 show at Night Gallery in Los Angeles, her work has been in demand from Hong Kong and Paris to MoMA PS1's "Greater New York" show, and her name has appeared on any number of annual top-ten lists of artists to watch. Her work is held in the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art. In addition her work "No Man's Land" at the Rubell Family Collection (traveled) and "Unrealism" an exhibition organized by Jeffery Deitch and Larry Gagosian, Yuz Museum, Shanghai (2016); and Galerie Hussenot, Paris (2015). Lawrence Gilbert "Larry" Gagosian (born April 19, 1945) is an American art dealer who owns the Gagosian Gallery chain of art galleries. Working in concert with collectors including Douglas S. Cramer, Eli Broad, and Keith Barish, he developed a reputation for staging museum-quality exhibitions of contemporary art. Early life and education Gagosian was born April 19, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, the elder sibling and only son to Armenian parents. His mother, Ann Louise, had a career in acting and singing, and his father, Ara, was an accountant and later a stockbroker. His grandparents (original last name Ghoughasian) immigrated from Armenia; he and his parents were born in California. The Yuz Museum Shanghai (Chinese: 余德耀美术馆) is a non-profit organization under the umbrella of the Yuz Foundation. It is located in the West Bund in Xuhui District, Shanghai. Yuz is reconstructed from the hangar of the original Longhua Airport and designed by Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto. Among the buildings with a total area of more than 9000 square meters, the main gallery alone accounts for more than 3000 square meters. The Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) is an art museum located on Wilshire Boulevard in the Miracle Mile, Los Angeles, California, Miracle Mile vicinity of Los Angeles.
