Minerul Lupeni
Clubul Sportiv Viitorul Minerul Lupeni, commonly known as Minerul Lupeni, is a Romanian football club based in Lupeni, Hunedoara County which competes in Liga IV – Hunedoara County, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. Established in 1920 as ''Jiul Lupeni'', the club changed its name several times to ''Partizanul (1950), Flacăra (1951), Minerul (1953 and 1957) and Energia (1956)''. Dissolved in 2010, the club from Jiu Valley was re-founded as Viitorul Minerul Lupeni in 2021. History The team of miners from the Lupeni coal basin was founded in 1920 as Jiul Lupeni. In 1926, the club merger for a short time with CAMP playing under the name of Jiul Lupeni. In the 1927–28 season, the Jiu Valley team managed to won the Arad Regional Championship qualified for the national tournament of the Divizia A and managing to reach the final of the competition, where lost in front of Colțea Brașov with 2–3. 1947–48 Divizia B
The 1947–48 Divizia B was the ninth season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format was changed from three series to four series, each one of them having 16 teams. The winners of the series were supposed to promote in the Divizia A, but finally only two of them promoted. Next season (1948–49) the format would be changed again, this time in two series of 14 teams, therefore in this season relegated all the teams ranked below the 7th place, a total of 36 teams (9x4) plus the worst two ranked on the 7th place. The 1940–41 Divizia B was the seventh season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The league included 26 teams divided in three regional series. Many changes in the composition of the series were caused by the beginning of World War II. It was the last official season of Divizia B until 1946, when the league was resumed. The seasons played during World War II are not considered official. Also, promotions and relegations were not feasible this season because Divizia A and Divizia C were also suspended for the next 5 years. The 1939–40 Divizia B was the sixth season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format has been maintained, four series of 10 teams. The winners of the series were supposed to promote in the Divizia A, but the winners of the 3rd and 4th series were not promoted from different reasons. The Liga 2, most often spelled as Liga II, is the second level of the Romanian football league system. The league changed its name from Divizia B just before the start of the 2006–07 Liga II, 2006–07. It is currently Sponsor (commercial), sponsored by Casa Pariurilor, a betting company with the official name Liga 2 Casa Pariurilor. Format Divisions Since its inception in 1934, Liga II had between 2 and 9 parallel divisions, with clubs divided based on geographic regions. Generally, Seria I included eastern teams while Seria II included western sides, although clubs near the center of the country are allowed to choose in which series they will compete. The first six teams from each series participate in a play-off for potential promotion to Liga I. The teams placed from 7th to 12th will play a relegation play-off, where the last two teams are relegated to Liga III. 1935–36 Cupa României
The 1935–36 Cupa României was the third edition of Romania's most prestigious football cup competition. The trophy was obtained by Ripensia Timișoara who defeated Unirea Tricolor București in the final. It was the second and last Romanian Cup won by Ripensia Timișoara. Format The competition is an annual knockout tournament with pairings for each round drawn at random. There are no seeds for the draw. The draw also determines which teams will play at home. Each tie is played as a single leg. If a match is drawn after 90 minutes, the game goes in extra time, and if the scored is still tight after 120 minutes, there a replay will be played, usually at the ground of the team who were away for the first game. From the first edition, the teams from Divizia A entered in competition in sixteen finals, rule which remained till today.
