1936–37 Divizia C
The 1936–37 Liga III, Divizia C was the first season of the third tier league of the Romanian football league system. The league was divided in five parallel divisions, based on geographical criteria. The winner of each division earned promotion to the 1937–38 Divizia B, next season of Liga II, Divizia B. Liga III
The Liga 3, most often spelled as Liga III, is the third level of the Romanian football league system. It was founded in 1936 and was called Divizia C until 2006. An exception was the seasons 1992–93 to 1996–97, in which the league was called Divizia B. Minerul Lupeni
Clubul Sportiv Viitorul Minerul Lupeni, commonly referred to as Minerul Lupeni, is a Romanian football club based in Lupeni, Hunedoara County, which competes in Liga III , the third tier of the Romanian football league system. Established in 1920 as ''Jiul Lupeni'', the club changed its name several times to ''Partizanul (1950), Flacăra (1951), Minerul (1953 and 1957) and Energia (1956)''. Dissolved in 2010, the club from Jiu Valley was re-founded as Viitorul Minerul Lupeni in 2021. History The team of miners from the Lupeni coal basin was founded in 1920 as Jiul Lupeni. In 1926, the club merger for a short time with CAMP playing under the name of Jiul Lupeni. In the 1927–28 season, the Jiu Valley team won the Arad Regional Championship, qualified for the Divizia A national tournament and reached the final, losing to Colțea Brașov, 2–3. The 1936–37 Divizia B was the third season of the second tier of the Romanian football league system. The format was changed this year, from 5 series of 8 teams to 2 series of 13 teams. Also it was decided to expand Divizia A and first four teams of both series were promoted. CFR Turnu Severin
Club Sportiv CFR Turnu Severin 1943, commonly known as CFR Turnu Severin, is a football club based in Drobeta-Turnu Severin, Romania. It was founded in 1928 and it won one Romanian Cup in 1943. The club was dissolved in 1958, but was re-founded in 2018 and since 2022 has active teams enrolled in the Liga IV – Mehedinți County. History The railroad workers team from the Danube port of Porţile de Fier was founded in 1928, under president I. Tipărescu. Fotbal Club Politehnica Timișoara (), commonly known as Politehnica Timișoara or simply Poli Timișoara, was a Romanian Association football, football club from Timișoara, Timiș County, established in 1921 and dissolved in 2012. During its existence, the team won two Cupa României trophies and was twice runner-up in the Liga I. It amassed 49 seasons in the latter competition. Named after and initially run by the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, the club was founded in 1921 by mathematician Traian Lalescu. Club Sportiv Municipal Lugoj, commonly known as CSM Lugoj, or simply as Lugoj, is a Romanian football club from Lugoj, Timiș County, Romania. The club was named in the past, ''Vulturii Textila'', after a textile company in the city of Lugoj. CSM Lugoj was founded under the name ''Vulturii Lugoj'' in 1920. Banatul Timișoara was a former football club in Timișoara, Romania. The team is named after the region Banat. The team was founded in 1923 and played in the County Championship in Timiș County. The best season for them is 1928–1929. In 1927, former players at Sparta-Unirea CFR joined the team and created a stronger team winning the regional championship to qualify in 1928–29 Divizia A, the Romanian first division. The best performance of Banatul is to reach the semi-final in this season and be eliminated by Victoria Cluj. After World War II, they played in the Third League of Romania without notable performances. Banatul Timișoara disbanded in 1950.
