Mick Kennedy (Limerick Hurler)
Michael Kennedy (1911 – 14 May 1977) was an Irish hurler who played as a full-back for the Limerick senior team. Kennedy joined the team during the 1933 championship and was a regular member of the starting fifteen until his retirement almost a decade later. During that time he won three All-Ireland medals, four Munster medals and five National Hurling League medals. Kennedy was an All-Ireland runner-up on one occasion. Michael LeMoyne Kennedy (February 27, 1958 – December 31, 1997) was an American lawyer, businessman, and activist in Massachusetts. He was the sixth of eleven children to Robert F. Kennedy and Ethel Skakel. Kennedy also served as the head of the non-profit organization Citizens Energy. He died in Aspen, Colorado, in 1997 after skiing into a tree. Michael Kennedy (born April 13, 1972) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played in the National Hockey League from 1994–95 to 1998–99 for the Dallas Stars, Toronto Maple Leafs and New York Islanders. Career Kennedy was drafted 97th overall by the Minnesota North Stars in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. He played 152 career NHL games, scoring 16 goals and 36 assists for a total of 52 points. Michael C. Kennedy (born August 6, 1962) is a Canadian curler from Edmundston, New Brunswick. Curling career Kennedy is a former Canadian and World Senior Curling Champion. He won both the 2013 Canadian Senior Curling Championships and 2014 World Senior Curling Championships playing third for the Wayne Tallon rink. Kennedy has also won two provincial seniors titles, winning with Tallon in 2013 and playing third for Mark Armstrong in 2014. As a junior curler, Kennedy won a provincial championship playing third for the Ron Healey rink in 1980. Kennedy has been one of the perennial top skips in New Brunswick since the 1990s. Family and early life Kennedy was one of 11 children of a CIÉ bus inspector distantly related to the Kennedy family of American politics. Of Michael's brothers, two died in childhood, one became a priest in Central America and another (Declan aka "Wally") was elected to Hillingdon London Borough Council for Militant Labour in 1990. After the Leaving Certificate, Michael entered Donamon Castle, the seminary of the Society of the Divine Word, intending to become a missionary priest, but left to get treatment for a stammer. Kennedy played his early football with Queanbeyan in the Australian Capital Territory Australian Football League (ACTAFL) and was an ACT representative at the 1988 Adelaide Bicentennial Carnival. Drafted by Brisbane at the 1987 VFL draft, Kennedy made his senior VFL debut in 1988 against Collingwood Football Club and in all spent three seasons with Brisbane for 23 games.
